At around 11:00 a.m. on November 30, a patrol team of Trieu Van Border Guard Station (Quang Tri Border Guard Command) discovered that Mr. Le Huu Chuc's fishing boat (residing in village 7, Trieu Van commune, Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri province) was fishing in the sea near the shore of village 9 (Trieu Van commune) when it was almost completely sunk by waves.

On the fishing boat at the time of the accident were 3 fishermen: Le Huu Chuc (boat owner); Mr. Le Huu Phuc and Mrs. Le Huu Phieu (both residing in village 7, Trieu Van commune, Trieu Phong district).

After that, the patrol team of Trieu Van Border Guard Station promptly assisted the two fishermen to swim safely to shore. At the same time, they promptly reported to the Command of Trieu Van Border Guard Station and the Trieu Van Commune government to send forces to rescue the remaining fishermen who were clinging to their boat and being pushed far from shore by the waves.

More than 30 officers and soldiers of Trieu Van Border Guard Station were mobilized to the scene to coordinate with the police force and militia of Trieu Van commune to carry out rescue work.

Authorities used ropes to swim out to rescue and after more than an hour were able to approach and bring people and boats safely to shore.

According to Trieu Van Border Guard Station, in recent days, the unit has coordinated with the police and militia forces to propagate and encourage fishermen not to go out to sea when the weather is bad and the waves are big, causing danger to people and vehicles. At the same time, a team has been assigned to regularly patrol the sea border, promptly detect and rescue when situations arise.

Nine days ago, the Con Co Island Border Guard Station (Quang Tri Border Guard Command) also received and brought 5 fishermen from a fishing boat in distress at sea to the island safely for health care.

Specifically, at around 2:00 p.m. on November 20, fishing boat QB-88991-TS, owned and captained by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Thuy (39 years old, residing in Ba Don town, Quang Binh province), and 4 fishermen were fishing at coordinates 17°43'N-107°52'E when an accident caused the boat to sink.

At this time, a fishing boat of Nghe An province fishermen operating near the discovery area promptly rescued 5 fishermen of QB-88991-TS boat, and at the same time reported to Gianh Port Border Guard Station (Quang Binh Province Border Guard).

After determining the location of the boat in distress, Gianh Port Border Guard Station contacted Con Co Island Border Guard Station to request support and medical care for the 5 fishermen.

The Quang Tri Border Guard Command dispatched ship CN09, which was on duty at Con Co Island, to approach the fishing boat of Nghe An fishermen and bring the five distressed crew members to the island.
