– 2023 is a breakthrough year in the construction of rural roads with a total length of 469 km of hardened roads, exceeding the plan by 34%. To achieve this result, all levels, sectors and people have joined hands to effectively implement many solutions.
People of Lam Ca commune, Dinh Lap district participate in the construction of rural road hardening in 2023
Trang Dinh is the district with the largest volume of rural traffic roads in the province in 2023. Accordingly, by the end of 2023, the whole district had solidified 85.78 km of rural traffic roads, nearly 2 times more than in 2022.
Mr. Nguyen Nhu Binh, Head of the Economic - Infrastructure Department of Trang Dinh district, emphasized: The results of the hardening of rural roads in the district are high thanks to the district's integration of many different sources to consolidate the traffic infrastructure in the area such as capital according to the provincial rural transport project, capital from the national target program. Specifically, implementing the mechanism of integrating capital sources in 2023, the whole district has hardened 61.54 km and the district's 2023 rural transport cement support source hardened 24.24 km. To build the road, people contributed 1.86 billion VND and more than 17,000 working days. Thereby, by the end of 2023, the rate of hardened commune roads in the district reached 58.84%; the rate of hardened village roads reached 49.2% and alley roads reached 44.5%.
In 2023, districts and cities supplied more than 28.8 thousand tons of cement, people exploited more than 40 thousand cubic meters of stone and gravel and contributed 144 thousand working days, more than 31.3 billion VND (an increase of nearly 4 billion VND compared to 2022) to build rural roads. |
Similar to Trang Dinh, Dinh Lap district also has a high volume of hardening rural roads. According to data from the District Economic - Infrastructure Department, in 2023, the whole district hardened 56.94 km of rural roads, an increase of 10 km compared to 2022. Notably, the resources mobilized from the people to harden rural roads increased sharply, specifically, the people contributed 5.05 billion VND (in 2022, the people contributed cash to build roads of 2.8 billion VND).
In particular, Lam Ca commune alone strives to meet new rural standards by 2023, has solidified 21.2 km of rural roads of all kinds, the district has provided more than 800 tons of cement to build roads and the commune has mobilized socialization from businesses and people to contribute money, working days, exploit materials, and machines worth more than 2 billion VND.
Mr. Nguyen Chi Son, Chairman of Lam Ca Commune People's Committee, said: In the process of hardening rural roads in 2023, in addition to the people's contribution of more than 400 million VND, the commune also mobilized about 15 shifts of machines from enterprises to build roads on the main roads of villages and alleys. In particular, Ke Ca village is a bright spot in mobilizing people's strength to harden the main roads of villages and alleys with a total value of people's cash contributions, working days, and materials of 336 million VND to harden nearly 1.5 km of roads with a 3 m wide road surface.
According to the Department of Transport, in 2023, the whole province has hardened 469 km of rural roads, reaching 134% of the plan, of which 9/11 districts and cities have exceeded the plan. Districts and cities have supplied more than 28.8 thousand tons of cement, people have exploited more than 40 thousand cubic meters of stone and gravel and contributed 144 thousand working days, more than 31.3 billion VND (an increase of nearly 4 billion VND compared to 2022) to build rural roads.
Mr. Duong Cong Vi, Director of the Department of Transport, said: The results of hardening roads exceeding the set plan target are thanks to districts and cities continuing to well implement the movement of state support and people doing it themselves; along with that, promoting investment in the system of commune and village roads in the direction of integrating resources. For example, the capital source of the national target program allocates funds to complete the roadbed, while the concrete road surface is implemented according to the rural transport development project and other socialized sources. Entering 2024, in addition to continuing to promote hardening of traffic routes according to the plan, the department also advises the Provincial People's Committee to urge districts to register to harden traffic bridges. The goal is to harden 10 bridges to increase transport capacity on district and commune roads in the whole province.
Promoting the achieved results, from the beginning of 2024, districts and cities have been speeding up the bidding for cement purchase to supply communes to carry out the spring campaign to harden rural roads according to plan. The goal is to increase the rate of hardening of commune, village and alley roads, contributing to creating a seamless connection from the national road network to the rural road system to increase production capacity for rural areas, gradually improving the quality of people's lives.
