With various sources of capital and contributions from the people, Binh Son district ( Quang Ngai ) invested in building and repairing hundreds of kilometers of roads at all levels, thereby gradually completing the infrastructure.
Allocating hundreds of billions of dong to build dynamic transport infrastructure
Records along provincial and district roads through Binh Son district show that the appearance of local traffic and urban infrastructure is increasingly spacious, modern and interconnected.
Binh Son district has focused on investing in traffic infrastructure, improving the local appearance and people's lives.
DH01 Road used to be a nightmare for people because the road surface was peeling and creating potholes. But now, after investment and repair, the road surface has become smooth. Vehicles carrying agricultural and forestry products and people can travel smoothly.
In addition, many other district roads have also been repaired and newly invested, gradually eliminating the situation of vehicles jumping around when traveling on the road. For example, DH07 road, which used to be a "bad spot" in terms of infrastructure, now has a nearly 2km long section connecting Vo Van Kiet road to National Highway 1 paved with smooth asphalt.
It is known that the investment in upgrading the two above roads was flexibly advised by Binh Son district, using targeted capital allocated by the Central Government.
According to the People's Committee of Binh Son district, from 2021 to now, the locality has mobilized nearly 300 billion VND from the central and provincial budgets to invest in building district roads according to the approved plan. Along with that, the district budget has replaced the sign system and invested in upgrading and repairing more than 50km of district roads.
Up to now, more than 93/108km of district roads have been asphalted and concreted, reaching a rate of nearly 86%.
The traffic infrastructure system in Binh Son district is gradually becoming modern and spacious.
For the bridge and culvert system, investment has been gradually made in construction, upgrading and solid replacement with 32/33 bridge works.
In particular, the highlight project invested by the district is the Thach An bridge project across Tra Bong river with a length of nearly 1.8km, total investment of 150 billion VND connecting national highway 24C with district roads DH.09 and DH.01, gradually completing the district's infrastructure.
In addition, in Binh Son district, there are many other key traffic infrastructure projects invested by the province such as Tri Binh - Dung Quat road; upgrading the main North-South axis of Van Tuong urban area and many projects to expand and upgrade related routes, creating a new and vivid picture of the traffic infrastructure of the northern gateway district of Quang Ngai.
Rural transport is increasingly bright
In addition to the main traffic infrastructure system, in recent times, Binh Son district has also promoted investment in rural traffic infrastructure and intra-field traffic.
The leader of the People's Committee of Binh Son district said that developing rural transport infrastructure is one of the important political tasks of the locality in the journey to turn Binh Son into a new rural district, aiming to become a town in the next few years.
Hundreds of kilometers of rural roads and intra-field roads in Binh Son have been paved, accounting for over 90%.
Walking along the communes of Nhu Binh Thoi, Binh Duong , Binh Phuoc… it is not difficult to see the clear change in the appearance of rural infrastructure. Most of the roads here have been concreted and hardened. Even the internal roads have been invested in so that farmers can move from home to the fields without… getting muddy.
Up to now, after 4 years of implementing the Resolution of the District Party Congress, communes in the area have invested in, upgraded and repaired 50 commune and village roads with a length of nearly 30km, costing more than 60 billion VND.
In particular, in the past 4 years, 114km of roads have been concreted from cement support. In addition, in the process of building rural traffic infrastructure, localities have actively mobilized people in the district to donate more than 3.4 hectares of land to expand roads, contributing nearly 26 billion VND and 14,495 working days.
Chairman of Binh Son District People's Committee Nguyen Tuong Duy said that up to now, nearly 227/227.2km of commune and inter-commune roads have been asphalted or concreted to meet the technical standards of the Ministry of Transport, reaching a rate of 98.8%.
Regarding village and inter-village roads, more than 182/186km have been hardened to meet the technical standards of the Ministry of Transport, reaching 97.8% of the total planned village and inter-village roads.
In particular, there are more than 426/474km of clean alleys and hamlets that are not muddy in the rainy season, ensuring convenient travel for people all year round. The main road system in the fields has been hardened, making it convenient for motor vehicles to travel on more than 272km out of a total of more than 333km.
Currently, Binh Son district is adjusting the Transport Infrastructure Development Plan to suit the reality: Adjusting the length, scale, reducing and including in the orientation plan to 2045 a number of district roads according to the plan to serve as a basis for allocating investment resources later.
Chairman of Binh Son District People's Committee Nguyen Tuong Duy said that to achieve great results in investment in developing transport infrastructure as at present, the locality has implemented synchronous solutions to develop synchronous and modern infrastructure, creating momentum for development. In particular, determining investment in works and projects in a concentrated and balanced direction, and allocating capital reasonably.
The Thach An bridge project invested by Binh Son district not only connects traffic but also enhances the local appearance.
Thanks to that, the infrastructure system in the district has developed, basically meeting the requirements, which is an important premise for building new rural areas and developing urban areas.
"But most importantly, the results achieved in developing transport infrastructure, in addition to the district's efforts, also have the attention and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, District Party Committee, and District People's Council. From there, it has made an important contribution to promoting economic development, ensuring national security and defense, and improving and enhancing people's lives," Mr. Duy emphasized.
