Meeting to celebrate the 35th traditional day of the War Veterans Association of Son La province

On the afternoon of April 11, the Veterans Association of Son La province held a meeting to celebrate the 35th anniversary of its founding (April 12, 1990 - April 12, 2025). Attending the meeting were comrade Le Hong Minh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of departments, branches, sectors, and organizations; former leaders of the Veterans Association through the periods; Standing Committee of the Provincial Veterans Association and districts, towns, and cities.

On April 12, 1990, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee issued Decision No. 465 on the establishment of the Son La Provincial Veterans Association. After 35 years of construction and development, under the leadership of the Central Vietnam Veterans Association and the Son La Provincial Party Committee, generations of veterans in the province have always maintained and promoted the nature of Uncle Ho's soldiers, united, strived to rise up, built a clean and strong association, worthy of being a reliable support of local Party committees and authorities and the trust of the people of all ethnic groups in the province.

Up to now, the province has 13 association organizations, 242 association bases, with a total of 44,068 members. Associations at all levels regularly disseminate and launch the patriotic emulation movement "Exemplary veterans", associated with promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style. Cadres and members always uphold the spirit of self-reliance, self-reliance, helping each other to do business, sustainably reduce poverty, legally enrich themselves and participate in local socio-economic development. Over 1,000 members have been recognized as good producers and traders at all levels. The rate of poor households in the whole association has decreased from 8.75% (in 2019) to 6.43% (in 2024), the number of well-off and rich member households has reached over 57%. Associations at all levels have mobilized members to actively participate in the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses; In which, mobilized and mobilized resources to eliminate 993 temporary and dilapidated houses for war veterans with housing difficulties, with a total amount of over 48 billion VND.

In recognition of the achievements, the Provincial Veterans Association was honored to receive the First, Second and Third Class Labor Medals from the Party and State; the Prime Minister awarded 1 excellent emulation flag and 8 certificates of merit to collectives and individuals; the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association and the Provincial People's Committee awarded 32 emulation flags and 342 certificates of merit to collectives and individuals; and the Lao People's Democratic Republic awarded the Third Class Labor Medal.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Le Hong Minh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, highly appreciated the contributions of cadres and members of the War Veterans Association in the whole province. At the same time, he requested the Provincial War Veterans Association to continue to build a strong organization in terms of politics, ideology and organization; innovate content and methods, improve the quality and efficiency of operations; build and expand typical advanced collectives and individuals. Promote the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, promote the patriotic emulation movement "Exemplary veterans". Coordinate to organize education on patriotic traditions and revolutionary heroism for the younger generation. Propaganda and mobilize people to participate in the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas"./.
