On the morning of July 25, at the National Funeral Home - No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong (Hanoi), at the same time at Thong Nhat Hall (Ho Chi Minh City) and his hometown in Dong Hoi commune, Dong Anh district (Hanoi), the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and his family solemnly held a funeral for comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, according to the National Funeral rites.
In deep emotion and grief, from early morning, delegations of the Party, State, National Assembly, Government, Vietnam Fatherland Front, ministries, departments, branches, cadres, soldiers of the armed forces and a large number of people from the capital and many provinces and cities across the country gathered at the National Funeral Home - No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong (Hanoi) to attend the funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong - the leader who had many great and especially outstanding contributions to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
At the National Funeral Home, the funeral of comrade Nguyen Phu Trong was held in a solemn and emotional atmosphere.
Lying in the most solemn position, in the middle of the altar, the coffin of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was covered with a bright red national flag.
On the stage is the national flag with a black ribbon, highlighting the words "Deeply mourning comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam" and his portrait.
With the sad background music of “Soul of the Dead Soldier,” at exactly 7 o’clock, the funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was solemnly held.

At the same time, the funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was solemnly held at Thong Nhat Hall (Ho Chi Minh City) and in Dong Hoi commune, Dong Anh district, Hanoi city - the hometown of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission, was born on April 14, 1944; hometown is Dong Hoi commune, Dong Anh district, Hanoi city; permanent residence is at No. 5 Thien Quang street, Nguyen Du ward, Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi city, joined the work in 1967, joined the Party in December 1967.

During nearly 60 years of work, he had many great and especially outstanding contributions to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
He was awarded the Gold Star Order, the 55-year Party membership badge and many other noble Vietnamese and international orders and medals by the Party and State. His passing is a great loss to the Party, the State, our people and his family.
The memorial service for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong will start from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on July 25, 2024 and from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on July 26, 2024.
