Eight days have passed since the entire Vietnamese people received the sad news of the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the age of 80. And at the moment of this memorial service, the sadness of the entire nation at the passing of the General Secretary is even more profound. In the sacred and emotional moment before the farewell to the General Secretary, President To Lam respectfully read the eulogy to bid farewell to Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, reviewing the life and revolutionary career of the General Secretary through each stage, closely linked to the glorious history of the nation.

During the two days of the National Funeral, nearly 6,000 delegations, 100 international delegations, and 200,000 people paid their respects directly at the National Funeral House, the Reunification Palace (Ho Chi Minh City) and the General Secretary's hometown in Dong Anh.
