Ethnic work in the first 6 months of the year: Completed early

Attending the online conference were representatives of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council; Party Building Committees; ministries, branches and central agencies; leaders of departments and units under the Committee for Ethnic Minorities; People's Committees, departments, branches and ethnic affairs agencies of provinces and cities across the country.

The report assessing the results of ethnic work in the first 6 months of 2023 shows that in the past 6 months, ethnic work has always received attention, direction, and coordination in implementation from the Party, the State, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and the entire political system; the society and especially the ethnic minorities nationwide have paid attention, thanks to which the implementation of ethnic work has achieved many important results, especially in implementing ethnic programs and policies.

In the first 6 months of 2023, the Government, the Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Ministers have closely directed, resolutely, and promptly issued legal documents and administrative documents; the Committee for Ethnic Minorities and central and local ministries, departments, and branches have coordinated more closely and effectively, most notably in removing difficulties and guiding the implementation of National Target Programs, including the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas (National Target Program 1719), clearly demonstrating responsibility to ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

The Committee for Ethnic Minorities always closely coordinates with ministries and branches to effectively perform the state management function on ethnic minority affairs, continuing to develop and complete projects to concretize the Resolutions of the Party, the National Assembly and the Government. Implementing projects, policies and tasks in the work plan in the first 6 months of the year, achieving the set goals with a large amount of work, completing with focus, key points, close to reality, meeting the requirements of the task. Information, propaganda, digital transformation and dissemination of legal education for ethnic minorities have been strengthened; international cooperation on ethnic minority affairs continues to be promoted. The organization and organization of the apparatus and staff for ethnic minority affairs, the capacity of the staff has been gradually improved.

Through the implementation results, it shows that, although there are still many difficulties in the first 6 months of 2023, the CTDT has basically been effectively implemented, contributing significantly to socio-economic development, social stability, ensuring national defense and security in the ethnic minority and mountainous regions in particular and the whole country in general.

In order for the 2023 Work Program to achieve the set goals, the Committee for Ethnic Minorities focuses on directing and implementing a number of key tasks: Continuing to effectively implement the Directives, Resolutions, Conclusions of the Party, the National Assembly, the Government, and the Prime Minister's directives and management documents related to the Ethnic Minorities Program; focusing on building and completing, ensuring quality and on time, the projects and CSDT in the Work Program of the Politburo, the Secretariat, the National Assembly, the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Government, and the Prime Minister in 2023;

Continue to accelerate the removal of difficulties and obstacles, provide guidance on policies and mechanisms in the implementation of the National Target Program for Ethnic Minorities; strengthen monitoring and grasping the situation in ethnic minority and mountainous areas; continue to study and review ethnic minority policies, propose amendments and supplements or replace programs and ethnic minority policies; continue to carry out administrative reforms, effectively implement the Government's digital transformation, apply digital transformation in ethnic minority programs, etc.

Minister and Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities Hau A Lenh requested that ethnic affairs agencies from the central to local levels continue to focus on implementing Action Programs and work plans to concretize the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party; Conclusion No. 65-KL/TW of the Politburo; Resolution No. 88/2019/QH14 and documents of the Party and State on ethnic affairs and Resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels of localities in ethnic minority and mountainous areas on ethnic affairs.

The Minister and Chairman requested to continue to strengthen the work of grasping the situation of ethnic minority and mountainous areas in all areas of life, economy, culture, society; especially the situation of natural disasters, epidemics, spontaneous migration, "hot spots" of security and order..., at the same time, pay attention to caring for the material and spiritual life of policy households and people in difficult circumstances. Continue to review, revise, supplement or replace programs and policies for ethnic minorities and ethnic minority and mountainous areas to ensure the unity and synchronization of the ethnic policy system in the period of 2021-2030.
