The Department of Education and Training (GD-DT) of Ho Chi Minh City has just officially announced the capacity survey for admission to grade 6 of Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School for the 2024-2025 school year.
According to the HCM City Department of Education and Training, candidates taking the entrance exam for grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School will take a test on the following competencies: Language (English, Vietnamese - writing); mathematics and logical thinking; natural sciences, social sciences (history - geography) to apply and solve practical problems.
The survey consists of multiple choice and essay sections.
In the multiple-choice test, candidates take a 20-question test in English on understanding natural sciences, social sciences and applying and solving practical problems within 30 minutes.
In the essay section, candidates will take a 60-minute test including: English proficiency test: listening comprehension, reading comprehension, writing (candidates will take the test in English). Math and logical thinking ability test, reading comprehension and writing ability test (candidates will take the test in Vietnamese).

The time limit for all sections of the survey is 90 minutes.
Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training decided to assign the enrollment target for grade 6 in the 2024-2025 school year to Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School as 350 students (equivalent to 10 classes). At the same time, enrollment and training for grades 6 and 10 will be implemented from the 2024-2025 school year.
Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School was established on the basis of reorganizing Tran Dai Nghia Specialized High School. The headquarters of Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School is located at 53 Nguyen Du Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1.
Implementation time: From 7 to 11-6: Register to participate in the online survey at: www.trandainghia.edu.vn
From 7:30 a.m. on June 24 to 4:30 p.m. on June 26: Receive survey participation cards at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School (20 Ly Tu Trong, District 1), parents and students bring the survey registration form sent by the system.
July 4: Conducting a survey for grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School.
July 11: Expected to announce survey plan.
Based on the results of the survey, the students will be considered from high to low until the quota is met. Students who are not admitted to the school will still be considered for admission to grade 6 according to the regulations of the District Admissions Steering Committee.
Admission objects: Students who have completed primary school program in Ho Chi Minh City and have a score of 9 or higher in the final exam of each subject of Vietnamese and math in grade 5.
Admission requirements: The age of students entering grade 6 is 11 years old (according to valid birth certificate); For students who are allowed to skip a grade in the previous grade or students entering the grade at an age higher than the prescribed age, the age for entering grade 6 will be reduced or increased based on the age of the year of graduation from the previous grade;
Ethnic minority students, disabled students, students in especially difficult circumstances, and students returning from abroad can enter school at an age 3 years older than the prescribed age.
