(Dan Tri) - "As a preschool teacher, I hope to receive sharing, exchange, and comments from parents so that I can open my heart and understand..."
That was the sharing of Ms. Nguyen Thuy Ngoc Tram, teacher of Kindergarten 4, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City at the ceremony to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, honoring excellent teachers and presenting the Vo Truong Toan Award in 2024, which took place on the morning of November 18.
As one of the winners of the Vo Truong Toan Award this year, Ms. Tram said that teaching in preschool is not only about books and child care, but also organizing many fun and creative activities to help children develop important early life skills.
When positive results in teaching and caring for children are recognized by parents, colleagues and society, teachers feel encouraged and motivated.
However, according to Ms. Tram, there are still doubts from the public and parents about the work of preschool teachers.
She confided: "As a preschool teacher, perhaps I, like many other teachers, really hope to receive sharing, exchange, and comments from parents so that I can open up and understand. Through that, together we can aim to improve the quality of child care and education."
Speaking of this, Ms. Tram was moved to tears, choked up...
For Ms. Dinh Lan Phuong, a teacher at Nguyen Dinh Chieu Special School, behind each disabled student is a situation, a story, a unique need, no two students are alike...
The difficulties of the students are also challenges for the teacher. Many times she burst into tears because of helplessness when trying to find a way to enter the door of the soundless, lightless world of the students when they cannot hear, cannot see...
Now, in the context of accelerating digital transformation, teachers have more advantages in finding and using teaching support resources.
But no matter how much technology develops, according to Ms. Phuong, it cannot replace the care and concern that teachers give to their students.
Sharing at the program, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Van Hieu said that today, science and technology in general and artificial intelligence (AI) in particular can bring knowledge to students quickly, anytime, anywhere, richly, with diverse and attractive forms of delivery.
"But values such as arousing emotions, spreading the flame of love, awakening potential, forming and developing qualities and abilities for students, bringing good life values... cannot be achieved by any scientific or technological machine, only teachers can do it," Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu emphasized.
The Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City expressed that the teaching profession is noble but also has many difficulties, hardships, and pressures, and teachers have overcome those difficulties, hardships, and pressures to bring good values to the city's education sector.
Besides the visible results such as national and international awards in excellent student competitions; rankings in high school graduation exams, annual training performance... there are also immeasurable values of the education sector that all have the contribution of each teacher.
These are happy schools, where students are taught and loved; teachers are free to be creative, and their passion for their profession is nurtured. These are the changes and growth of students, and the joy of students every day they go to school.
In 2024, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City honored 14 Excellent Teachers and awarded the Vo Truong Toan Award to 50 teachers who have made many contributions to the development of the city's education and training sector.
Teachers are role models who spread enthusiasm and dedication to their profession; I would like to congratulate you and express my gratitude for your contributions.
