"Humanitarian Tet" Fair Program for the Year of the Dragon 2024

On January 22, the Provincial Red Cross Society (RCS) organized the "Humanitarian Tet" Fair Program for the Year of the Dragon 2024 to present and support Tet gifts to 500 poor people, people in difficult and vulnerable circumstances in the province.

Attending the program on the Central side were comrades: Nguyen Khac Dinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office; Vu Thanh Luu, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society; Huynh Thanh Xuan, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. On the provincial side, there were comrades: Nguyen Duc Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Phan Tan Canh, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of relevant departments, branches and sectors.

Speaking at the program, Comrade Nguyen Khac Dinh, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, said: The "Humanitarian Tet" movement of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, launched in 1999, has mobilized and connected the widespread attention of the social community, Party committees and authorities at all levels, thereby promoting social security, promptly encouraging the disadvantaged and disadvantaged to celebrate Tet; spreading the message of solidarity, humanity and sharing in the community so that no one is left behind.

The comrade acknowledged and commended the results achieved by the Red Cross Associations at all levels in the past time; at the same time, he requested the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Association and the Provincial Red Cross Association to continue to promote their core role, coordinate the humanitarian movement, carry out parallel support activities, create livelihoods for the movement to be more effective, aiming to become a reliable address, a support for the poor and a bridge between benefactors and those in need of support. The comrade called on organizations, individuals, and benefactors inside and outside the province to continue to care for and support households in difficult circumstances during this Tet holiday and throughout 2024. Thereby, helping poor and disadvantaged households have more conditions and motivation to improve their lives.

On this occasion, Comrade Nguyen Khac Dinh, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Nguyen Duc Thanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Phan Tan Canh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented 15 gifts, each worth 1.2 million VND to families of martyrs and heroic Vietnamese mothers; presented 50 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND to people in difficult circumstances in the province. Comrade Vu Thanh Luu, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society presented 300 million VND to build a boarding kitchen for students of Phuoc Tien B Primary School (Bac Ai).

The “Tet Nhan Ai” Fair was organized with 18 booths of necessities, services, and entertainment with a total value of over 530 million VND, serving 500 disadvantaged households to choose free essential items for their families during Tet, each worth nearly 1 million VND.

Of which, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society donated 110 million VND; the Binh Duong Red Cross Society donated 140 million VND; the Vietnam Talent Development Fund donated 150 million VND and other organizations and businesses. The program aims to provide material and spiritual support so that the poor, people in difficult circumstances, and vulnerable people can enjoy Spring and Tet, contributing to building a united and compassionate community.
