Series of activities of the General Secretary and President of Laos in Ho Chi Minh City

On the morning of September 13, General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, his wife Naly Sisoulith and the high-ranking delegation of the Lao Party and State left Tan Son Nhat airport, successfully concluding their State visit to Vietnam.
On September 12 and 13, in Ho Chi Minh City, the delegation led by General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith participated in many activities to further strengthen the relationship between the two Parties and States of Vietnam and Laos, as well as promote cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and localities of Laos.

General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith visits Nha Rong Wharf. This relic is located on the Saigon River, associated with the event when young man Nguyen Tat Thanh boarded the Amiral Latouche Treville ship on June 5, 1911, starting his journey to find a way to save the country.

Members of the delegation burned incense and paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh. The special solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Laos was established by President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane and President Souphanouvong, and has been nurtured by generations of leaders and people of the two countries.

General Secretary and President of Laos met again with former President Truong Tan Sang. During the meetings, Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the sentiments and great contributions of the two former Presidents to the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos; and recalled memories of their visits to Laos as well as their meetings.

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai welcomed General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith at the Reunification Hall. Ho Chi Minh City has established sister city relations with three Lao localities, including the capital Vientiane, Champasak province and Savannakhet province.

At the meeting, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen expressed his hope that the Lao General Secretary and President would continue to pay attention and direct Lao ministries, branches and localities to strengthen cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City, bringing the cooperative relationship to develop more practically and effectively.
