This year, the New Year holiday lasts 3 days (December 30, 31, 2023 and January 1, 2024), the number of visitors coming to visit and relax in the province is expected to increase sharply. Grasping the situation and needs of visitors, the Management Board of Po Sah Inư Tower Relic (under the Provincial Museum) is urgently renovating the destination, ready to serve tourists.
Located on the tourist route from the center of Phan Thiet City to Mui Ne, Hoa Thang, the Po Sah Inư tower relic (located on Ba Nai hill, Phu Hai ward, Phan Thiet city) is a stopover for many tourist groups.
This is a group of Cham towers remaining from the ancient Champa Kingdom, 7 km northeast of Phan Thiet city center. This group of towers has Hoa Lai architectural style - one of the ancient art styles of Champa. Around the end of the 8th century and the beginning of the 9th century, the Cham people built this group of towers to worship the god Shiva - one of the most revered and respected Hindu gods. In the 15th century, the Cham people built a number of temples with simple architecture to worship Princess Po Sah Inư, the daughter of King Para Chanh. The princess was talented, virtuous and well-mannered, so she was loved by the Cham people of that time.
Although only small and medium in size, it distills the quintessence of architectural techniques and decorative arts of the ancient Cham people, creating a majestic and mysterious look. The Po Sah Inư temple tower group is one of the relatively intact Cham tower clusters.
Mr. Tran Duc Dung - Head of the Management Board of Po Sah Inư Tower said: Up to this point, the Management Board of the relic has basically completed the work of embellishing, cleaning the environment, decorating trees from the gate to the path leading up to the tower and the tower areas. At the same time, the welcome gate panel, Tet activity program, propaganda banners, and promotion of activities to serve tourists were installed.
Specifically, during the 3 days of the New Year holiday, at the A tower yard, the Cham Folk Art Troupe will perform folk songs, folk dances, and musical instruments for tourists. Also starting from December 30, the Management Board will organize a photo exhibition with the theme "Land and People of Binh Thuan". Through 48 documentary photos by photographers inside and outside the province, it will outline a peaceful Binh Thuan, containing many historical - cultural relics, architectural art, famous landscapes, typical cultural festivals and always friendly and affectionate towards friends near and far... The exhibition will last until February 29, 2024.
Particularly for the 2024 Lunar New Year, from the 2nd to the 6th, in addition to Cham folk art performances, there will also be traditional craft performances performed and guided by Cham ethnic artisans if visitors want to experience, such as pottery making, brocade weaving, and gingerbread making. This is both an activity to preserve cultural values and exploit and promote heritage. Thereby introducing the unique culture of the Cham community, creating more highlights for visitors to visit the relic.
Mr. Tran Duc Dung added: To ensure the safety of visitors, the Management Board has developed a plan to maintain security and order, prevent fires and explosions in the relic site, and arrange reasonable parking lots. At the same time, it assigns and assigns staff to guide when needed, and divides shifts to work 24/7 to ensure the safety of visitors' property. Thereby, contributing to building a safe and friendly tourism image of Binh Thuan, creating a good impression in the hearts of visitors from near and far.
In 2023, Po Sah Inư Tower Relic welcomed 158,850 visitors, exceeding the plan by nearly 12,000 visitors. Of these, 3,220 were foreign visitors.
