Cuban National Assembly President visits Vietnam

It is expected that during his visit to Vietnam and participation in the celebration activities, President of the National Assembly of the People's Power of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hernandez will pay a courtesy call to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, meet with President Vo Van Thuong and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.

The President of the Cuban National Assembly will attend events in Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces. Accordingly, Mr. Esteban Lazo Hernandez will lay flowers at the Fidel Castro monument, visit the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital and meet with leaders of Quang Binh province, according to VNA.

In Quang Tri province, Mr. Esteban Lazo Hernandez will visit Hien Luong Bridge, the Hien Luong - Ben Hai National Special Relic Museum; visit the Provisional Revolutionary Government of South Vietnam Headquarters Relic Site in Cam Lo district; offer flowers and plant memorial trees at Fidel Park.

The President of the National Assembly of the People's Government of Cuba will join Politburo member, Permanent member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organizing Committee Truong Thi Mai to attend the rally to celebrate the 50th anniversary of leader Fidel Castro's visit to the liberated zone of South Vietnam (September 1973 - September 2023).

The celebration will take place on September 26, chaired by the People's Committee of Quang Tri province in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam.

The celebration aims to promote and enhance understanding among the people of the two countries, especially the younger generation, about the history and significance of the Vietnam-Cuba relationship, which was painstakingly cultivated by Cuban leader Fidel Castro and President Ho Chi Minh, according to the Government newspaper./.
