Vietnam wishes to promote cooperation in all fields with Uzbekistan

The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to the long-standing traditional friendship and wishes to promote cooperation with Uzbekistan in all fields to meet the interests of the people of the two countries.

According to VNA special correspondent, on the morning of April 8 local time, at the headquarters of the Uzbekistan National Assembly, within the framework of his official visit to Uzbekistan and participation in the 150th Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly (IPU-150), National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man held talks with Chairman of the Legislative Institute (Lower House) of the Uzbekistan National Assembly Nuriddin Ismoilov.

At the talks, Chairman of the House of Representatives Nuriddin Ismoilov was pleased to meet again with Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man and assessed that the National Assembly Chairman's participation in IPU-150 and official visit to Uzbekistan were of great significance, contributing to opening up prospects for bilateral cooperation in all fields, making positive contributions to the development and construction of each country.

Chairman of the House of Representatives Nuriddin Ismoilov affirmed the importance of the traditional friendship with Vietnam; thanked and highly appreciated the orientation speech of the National Assembly Chairman at the High-level Plenary Session of the IPU-150 General Assembly and said that as the first speaker at this Session, the Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly led the following speeches, contributing to the success of both the IPU-150 held for the first time in Uzbekistan and in the Central Asia region.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Uzbekistan National Assembly thanked Vietnam for its support at multilateral forums, including the United Nations, especially when Uzbekistan launched the Environmental Protection Initiative.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his pleasure on behalf of the Party and State leaders to lead a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly to attend IPU-150 and pay an official visit to Uzbekistan; thanked the sincere sentiments of the Speaker of the House of Representatives as well as the Uzbekistan side and the warm and respectful reception given to the delegation.

The National Assembly Chairman also congratulated Uzbekistan on successfully organizing the 150th IPU General Assembly and affirmed that the Vietnamese delegation's participation in the 150th IPU not only demonstrates respect for this important inter-parliamentary organization but also demonstrates the spirit of solidarity and friendship with Uzbekistan.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man sincerely congratulated Uzbekistan on its impressive development achievements and shared the results of his talks and meetings with Uzbekistani leaders; at the same time, he informed about Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements in recent times as well as its goals towards a new era - an era of rising up, developing richly, civilizedly and prosperously.

Pleased with recent high-level exchanges, especially this visit by the Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly, the two leaders agreed to continue to increase delegation exchanges at all levels, especially high-level ones, promote direct connections between ministries, sectors and localities, contributing to promoting cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, culture, tourism, agriculture, green development, digital transformation, infrastructure, climate change, etc.

Welcoming the opening of direct flights between Tashkent and Cam Ranh (Khanh Hoa), the two leaders suggested that relevant agencies continue to consider promoting the opening of new routes, exploiting the potential and advantages of each country; and have favorable visa policies for people of the two countries to travel to each other.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that the Vietnam-Uzbekistan Business Forum held on the morning of April 8 contributed to connecting the market, clearly demonstrating the determination to turn economic potential into concrete cooperation to bring the relationship between the two countries into reality and effectiveness; suggested that the two sides soon complete legal frameworks such as the Visa Exemption Agreement for Passports, the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement and the Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement... to promote economic-trade, investment and tourism relations between the two countries. The two sides also welcomed the fact that the two countries will soon open representative offices in each other to contribute to connecting and effectively promoting bilateral relations.

The two leaders affirmed their desire to strengthen relations between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the two chambers of Uzbekistan, through exchanges and connections between National Assembly agencies and deputies, supporting and promoting all-round relations between the two countries; promoting the role of supervision and urging the implementation of signed cooperation agreements.

On this occasion, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man also asked Uzbekistan to continue creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live, study and work stably in the country, contributing to being an important bridge to promote the friendly relations between the two countries./.
