Pleased to welcome the Chief Prosecutor and the delegation of the Supreme People's Procuracy of Azerbaijan to visit and work in Vietnam, the President affirmed that this visit of the delegation is of important significance, contributing to further strengthening the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Azerbaijan in general and bilateral cooperation between the judicial agencies of the two countries in particular.

The President congratulated Azerbaijan on its recent achievements under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev in ensuring political and social stability, positive economic development, and the continuous improvement of people's lives; and the increasingly enhanced position and role of Azerbaijan in the international arena.

On this occasion, through the President, the President sent his regards and best wishes to President Ilham Aliyev.

The President affirmed that the Vietnamese people always remember and cherish the sentiments, support and valuable assistance that the Soviet people, including Azerbaijan, have given to Vietnam in the past struggle for independence and national unification as well as in the current process of national construction. Although the two countries are geographically distant, they have close and close feelings, and wish to promote increasingly close and effective Vietnam-Azerbaijan relations, actively promoting mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation areas.

Expressing his gratitude to the President for taking the time to meet him, the Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy of Azerbaijan said that during the short visit to Vietnam, the delegation received a warm welcome and a lot of affection from the Vietnamese side.

Respectfully conveying the President's regards and best wishes for health to the President, the Director affirmed that President Ilham Aliyev and the Azerbaijani people always keep memories of President Ho Chi Minh's visit to Azerbaijan in 1959, an event that laid the foundation for promoting the traditional friendship between the two countries to this day; at the same time, he was extremely pleased with the important steps forward in bilateral cooperation.

Informing the President about the results of the working session with the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam, the Chief Prosecutor said that the two sides had signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation, which would contribute to deepening and substantively enhancing the relationship between the two agencies. This visit helped the Azerbaijan Procuracy delegation share experiences, promote cooperation with Vietnam, and was also an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the culture, history, and hospitable country and people of Vietnam.

Thanking the President of Azerbaijan for his sentiments and evaluation of the Vietnamese people and President Ho Chi Minh mentioned by the Director, the President affirmed Vietnam's consistent policy of constantly strengthening friendly relations with traditional friendly countries, including Azerbaijan.

Many Vietnamese students who were trained in Azerbaijan have now become key officials in many ministries and sectors. The President affirmed that this is a strong bond connecting the friendship between the people of Vietnam and Azerbaijan.

Agreeing with the opinions of the President, the President said that in the judicial field, Vietnam determined that "Continuing to build a professional, modern, fair, strict, honest, serving the Fatherland and the people in Vietnam's judiciary" is one of the important tasks in the process of building and perfecting the socialist rule of law state of Vietnam. Currently, Vietnam is carrying out a revolution to streamline the apparatus of the entire political system, including the system of judicial agencies, to meet the requirements of the cause of building and defending the Fatherland in the new situation.

Welcoming the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Supreme People's Procuracy of Vietnam and the Supreme People's Procuracy of Azerbaijan during this visit, the President believes that this document will create an important legal basis for the two countries' procuracies to carry out bilateral cooperation activities of mutual interest to improve work efficiency.

In order to make the cooperation between the two countries' Procuracies increasingly practical and effective, the President suggested that the two sides regularly exchange delegations at all levels to visit, work and study to enhance friendship and mutual understanding; closely cooperate in training and fostering officials and prosecutors of both sides; and actively support each other's initiatives in multilateral international cooperation forums of which the two countries are members.

The President firmly believes that through this visit, bilateral cooperation between the two Supreme People's Procuracies will have many positive breakthroughs, contributing to deepening and making the relationship between the two countries more effective.
