The Vietnam Cultural Day event from March 29-30 at Abraham Lincoln Park, Mexico City opened a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Mexico diplomatic relations (1975-2025). The event attracted the participation of representatives of diplomatic missions, city authorities, friends and local people.
Speaking at the opening of the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico Nguyen Van Hai affirmed that, stemming from sharing many similarities in the history of fighting for independence and building the country, over the past half century, the Vietnam-Mexico relationship has become increasingly strong and spread across many fields, from politics , economics, culture to people-to-people diplomacy.
Besides, despite the geographical distance, the Vietnam-Mexico bond is also built on the foundation of deep cultural similarities, because the two countries possess a long-standing culture, rich in national identity, with depth and containing many great spiritual values.
On behalf of the city government, Ms. Maria Gonzalez, Head of the Foreign Affairs Department of Miguel Hildango District, a central area of the capital where many international diplomatic missions are headquartered, wished the event a great success, marking a good start for the series of activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
Highlighting the significance of the Vietnamese cultural space as well as the professional organization of the Vietnamese Embassy, Ms. Gonzalez affirmed that this is an opportunity for the local government and people to learn more about a beautiful, peace- loving, developing and hospitable Vietnam.
At the event, in addition to folk art performances by the wives and children of officials and employees of representative agencies, the Vietnamese Embassy also brought many paintings, photos, and video clips introducing the country's beautiful landscapes and sophisticated handicrafts and fine arts products imbued with the identity and soul of the Vietnamese people.
In addition, at the culinary space, guests and locals also have the opportunity to enjoy typical dishes such as spring rolls, fried spring rolls, fried rice, salads...
