S-Race: From the aspiration 'For Vietnamese stature' to world record

Representatives of the S-Race 2024 Organizing Committee received the World Record certificate, badge and trophy from the World Record Union.

S-Race is one of the school sports projects implemented by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Sports Department - Vietnam Television, Unic Group in coordination with the Vietnam Athletics Federation, with the support of TH Group, in response to the Overall Project on physical development and stature of Vietnamese people in the period 2011-2030 according to Decision 641/QD-TTg, the School Health Program in the period 2021-2025 according to Decision No. 1660/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister.

Over the past 5 years, S-Race has become an annual activity loved by millions of students, families and schools across the country.

In 2024, with the participation of 112,367 students, parents and teachers in activities, and the response of 63/63 provinces and cities, S-Race officially set the record "School race in live and online form with the largest number of athletes participating in the world".

The world record certificate was awarded to the S-Race Organizing Committee at the S-Race Ha Tinh event held on the morning of March 29 at Tran Phu Square (Ha Tinh City, Ha Tinh Province).

This is the first time a Vietnamese school sports event has achieved a world record, marking the rise of the young generation of Vietnam on the journey to realize the aspiration of For Vietnamese stature.

Journey to the World Record

As one of the outstanding school sports activities, S-Race has continuously developed and expanded in scale and influence over the years, creating strong impressions on the journey to conquer important milestones.

The starting point of S-Race Nghe An 2020 attracted more than 3,000 students to participate. From here, S-Race opened up a physical training journey for many young people, inspiring an active and healthy lifestyle.

In 2022, S-Race was held in 5 localities including Quang Nam, Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Ninh, Hanoi and Nghe An, attracting more than 30,000 students, teachers and parents. This is also the year marking the birth of the S-Race Online challenge, recording the participation of students nationwide. With new highlights in 2022, S-Race set a Vietnamese record and an Asian record, affirming its increasingly strong influence.

In the 2023 season, S-Race made its mark with the support of many schools and localities across the country through response running events. In particular, for the first time cooperating with the For Vietnamese Stature Fund, S-Race turned the footsteps on the running track into meaningful gifts for children in difficult circumstances, spreading humanistic values, educating the spirit of sharing, and guiding the young generation to develop comprehensively in both physical and personality.

In 2024, S-Race will introduce two specialized brands, S-Race Family and S-Race School, along with many attractive activities: running in response of teachers and students, parents and children at live events; online running challenges S-Race Family Online and S-Race School Online. Thereby, S-Race affirms its commitment to connecting families, schools, and communities in physical development activities for the young generation of Vietnam.

S-Race is also the project with the first and only TV show dedicated to running, providing knowledge, skills, nutrition, psychology, helping students, university students and running enthusiasts form scientific and safe training habits.

The S-Race journey cannot lack the imprints from the community - where each individual, family, and school contributes to creating a strong spread.

The newly established world record is not only an important milestone but also a launching pad for S-Race to continue to inspire, connect families, schools and communities to join hands to take care of the young generation of Vietnam.
