At the Central Executive Committee meeting on the morning of November 25, the Central Committee agreed to let two personnel stop participating in the 13th Party Central Executive Committee.
These two people include: Mr. Nguyen Van The (Secretary of the Party Committee of Central Agencies, former Minister of Transport) and Mr. Bui Van Cuong (former Secretary General of the National Assembly, former Head of the National Assembly Office, former Secretary of Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee).
The Central Executive Committee said that Mr. The and Mr. Cuong violated Party regulations and State laws in performing their assigned duties and tasks, in preventing and combating corruption and negativity; violated the Regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example.
These violations cause serious consequences, risk of loss and waste of State money and assets, cause bad public opinion, and reduce the reputation of Party organizations, local authorities and State management agencies.
Fully aware of their responsibilities to the Party and the people, the above personnel have submitted applications to resign from their assigned positions, retire from work and enjoy the prescribed regimes and policies.
Based on current regulations of the Party and State and considering the wishes of the above individuals, the Party Central Committee agreed to let Mr. Nguyen Van The and Bui Van Cuong cease to hold the positions of members of the 13th Party Central Committee.
Previously, the Politburo decided to discipline Mr. Nguyen Van The with a warning at a meeting on November 21.
According to the Politburo, Mr. Nguyen Van The violated Party and State regulations in performing assigned duties and tasks, in preventing and combating corruption and negativity; violated regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example.
Mr. The's violations have caused serious consequences, bad public opinion, and reduced the reputation of the Party organization and State management agencies.
Mr. Nguyen Van The was born in 1966, from Dong Thap province. He held the position of Minister of Transport from October 2017 to October 2022.
A week earlier, the Politburo also decided to issue a disciplinary warning to Mr. Bui Van Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee and former Secretary of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee.
According to the conclusion, during his time as Secretary of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Bui Van Cuong violated Party regulations and State laws in performing assigned duties and tasks, and in preventing and combating corruption and negativity.
Mr. Bui Van Cuong also violated the Regulations on what party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example, causing serious consequences, risking loss and waste of large amounts of state money and assets, causing bad public opinion, and reducing the prestige of the party organization and local government.
On the afternoon of October 25, the National Assembly passed a resolution to dismiss Mr. Bui Van Cuong from the position of Secretary General of the National Assembly, member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, and to remove him from the duties of a National Assembly deputy of the 15th tenure.
Mr. Bui Van Cuong, born in 1965, is from Hai Duong province. In July 2019, he was mobilized and assigned by the Politburo to participate in the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and hold the position of Secretary of the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee, term XVI, 2015-2020.
In April 2021, Mr. Cuong was elected by the National Assembly to hold the positions of Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Secretary General of the National Assembly, and Head of the National Assembly Office.
