Thung Nham Bird Garden covers an area of about 334.2 hectares. Of which, 19 hectares are primary forest, home to about 46 species of birds, 109 species of plants, 150 species of animals...
In recent years, Thung Nham bird garden has become famous because it is the largest natural bird sanctuary in the North and a safe haven for flocks of wild birds.
Every time the sun sets, flocks of birds return to fly across the sky, creating a wild and wonderful scene that few places have.
Over the past 20 years, wild birds such as storks, herons, teals, kingfishers... have increasingly settled and nested in Thung Nham, with a population of about 50,000 birds.
Among birds, storks are the species with the largest flocks.
In particular, the bird garden currently has two rare species listed in the Vietnam Red Book: the Heng Hac (stork) and the Hong Hoang (ground phoenix). In the photo is the Heng Hac bird.
