Vietnam is currently ranked 109th in the FIFA rankings, 19th in Asia and 2nd in Southeast Asia. This is the highest position of Vietnam since February 2024. Previously, Vietnam under coach Park Hang-seo was continuously in the world's top 100.
Vietnam increased 5 places, now ranked 109th in the world
Since December 2024, the Vietnamese team has accumulated many points thanks to an unbeaten streak in the ASEAN Cup. Kim Sang-sik's team has gone through 7 wins, 1 draw and earned 19.04 FIFA points, bringing the current total to 1,183.83.
In Southeast Asia, Myanmar is the team that has risen the most (7 places, ranked 162) in the latest FIFA rankings update. Thailand, although falling 2 places, is still the only Southeast Asian team in the world's top 100, currently ranked 99th in FIFA.
The FIFA rankings are used to seed important national team tournaments such as World Cup qualifiers and the Asian Cup. The next FIFA announcement is expected to take place in June 2025.
