Xa Phin is a highland village of Phuong Tien commune, located at the foot of Tay Con Linh range with an altitude of over 1,000 m above sea level, with a temperate climate and cool all year round.
According to research, Xa Phin commune, along with three other villages, Mao Phin, Nam Te, and Na Mau, are all located under the majestic Tay Con Linh mountain range. These small villages are covered in fog all year round, and the air is always cool and airy. The steep terrain has created Xa Phin with terraced fields stretching as far as the eye can see.
To see the ripe rice season here, locals and tourists need to depart from the suspension bridge of Khuoi My village (Phuong Do commune, Ha Giang city) 10km along the eastern slope of Tay Con Linh range, through ancient snow tea forests, palm forests and winding slopes.

According to Xa Phin people, the rice season in Xa Phin is usually later than in other regions. Planting takes place in mid-June, early July and harvest takes place in mid-October.
