On September 11, Go Vap District Police (HCMC) are investigating and clarifying the cause of the fire that killed two children.
The victims were identified as girl PTBT (10 years old) and boy PTBP (6 years old).
Initial information, at around 2am the same day, the parents of the two children, Mr. PBP (33 years old) and Mrs. TT (30 years old), locked the door of their house at 204/44 Thong Nhat Street, Ward 10, Go Vap District to go to Binh Dien market to buy seafood to resell, leaving the two children sleeping inside.
At around 3:15 a.m., neighbors suddenly discovered fire and smoke rising, so they called everyone to use fire extinguishers to control the fire but were unsuccessful. At the same time, they reported the incident to local authorities and the fire department.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police of Go Vap District dispatched 2 specialized vehicles and 15 officers to the scene to put out the fire. Before the authorities arrived, the fire had engulfed the entire house.
At the scene, the authorities discovered that T. and P. had died. The entire house, about 18 square meters, was completely burned down.
According to authorities, the house on fire had two emergency exits, but at the time of the fire, both doors were locked.
As of 9:30 this morning, the crime scene investigation was still ongoing. All alleys leading to the area were strictly blocked off.
Speaking to VietNamNet, Chairman of the Go Vap District People's Committee Nguyen Tri Dung confirmed that the serious fire in Ward 10 had killed two children. In the immediate future, the district requested the Ward 10 People's Committee and organizations to closely monitor the incident. The two deceased children were students, so the school will have a direction to support and encourage the family.
