Comrade Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office Do Quoc Canh presented a report on the implementation of the first quarter; directions and key tasks for the second quarter of 2024.
The economy grew quite well, many fields developed.
In the first quarter, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and all levels and sectors focused on leading, directing, and implementing drastically, synchronously and effectively the tasks and solutions set out in all fields, with the spirit of "Discipline - Responsibility - Action - Creativity - Development"; along with the active participation of the entire political system, the efforts of the business community and all classes of people, the province's socio-economy continued to develop, national defense and security were ensured, and the work of building the Party and the political system achieved positive results.
Highlights include: The economy grew quite well, some sectors and fields developed well, many indicators increased compared to the same period such as: industrial production value, state budget revenue, export, investment attraction. Culture - society has made progress; the province's students lead the country in the rate of prize-winning contestants and ranked 4th in the number of first-prize winners in the national high school competition for the 2023-2024 school year. Social security is taken care of, people's lives are improved. National defense - security, social order and safety are ensured; the military transfer target for 2024 has been completed. The work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system has achieved positive results; the system of institutions, regulations, rules, mechanisms, policies, and planning continues to be supplemented, amended, newly issued, and increasingly perfected. The organization for the people to celebrate the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin was carried out promptly, thoughtfully, in accordance with the regime, for the right subjects and with innovation; everyone, every household enjoyed spring and celebrated Tet in a peaceful, joyful, healthy, safe, economical and affectionate atmosphere; no one was left behind.
Regarding economic development, many indicators increased compared to the same period; agricultural, forestry and fishery production developed quite comprehensively. Winter grain output was estimated at 63,700 tons; Spring crop planting area reached 177,900 hectares. Forestry developed in a sustainable direction; 2,430 hectares of concentrated forests were newly planted, equal to 24.3% of the plan, up 6.8% over the same period.
In the first quarter, 3 more communes met the new rural standards, 7 communes met the advanced new rural standards, and 7 communes met the model new rural standards; to date, the whole province has 13 district-level units and 363 communes met the new rural standards, 97 communes met the advanced new rural standards, and 23 communes met the model new rural standards. There are 15 more products ranked as 3-star OCOP at the provincial level, bringing the total number of provincial OCOP products to 479 products.

Industrial production increased sharply, the industrial production index in the first quarter is estimated to increase by 20% over the same period... Small-scale industry and traditional industries developed steadily. Commercial electricity output is estimated at 1.8 billion kWh, up 10.8% over the same period (CK); export value is estimated at 1,376.5 million USD, up 40.1%; import value is estimated at 2,257.5 million USD, up 14.1% CK. Tourism activities are bustling; the whole province is estimated to welcome 2.5 million visitors, up 10% CK, tourism revenue is estimated at 2,408.5 billion VND, up 16.5% CK. State budget revenue increased sharply, estimated at 13,356 billion VND, equal to 37.6% of the estimate and up 31.5% CK. Mobilization of development investment capital is estimated at VND 31,681 billion, equal to 23.5% of the plan, up 7.1% over the same period. By March 22, 28 direct investment projects (including 05 FDI projects) had been attracted, double the same period, with a total registered investment capital of about VND 3,441 billion and 60.7 million USD.

The 2024 public investment capital plan managed by the province was assigned in detail from the beginning of the year and focused on leadership and direction for its implementation. As of March 22, the disbursement value of public investment projects was estimated at VND 2,058.3 billion, equal to 16.1% of the detailed capital plan, 4.5% higher than the year-end, and 3.1% higher than the general disbursement rate of the whole country.
The report also pointed out the shortcomings and limitations and proposed 10 key tasks in the second quarter to continue to resolutely, synchronously, creatively and effectively implement the tasks and solutions set out in Resolution 15 of the Provincial Party Committee and Resolution 450 of the Provincial People's Council on implementing tasks in 2024.
