Cao Thai Son responds to controversy over setting a record for singing high notes

Báo Dân tríBáo Dân trí04/12/2024

(Dan Tri) - Singer Cao Thai Son said that he always welcomes all comments and knows how to apply them so that the high notes in the song will be at an easy-to-hear frequency.

In November, Cao Thai Son received two record certificates from the Vietnam Record Organization and the Global Vietnamese Record Organization (under the World Record Union), certifying him as the first Vietnamese male singer to apply the note Fa6 (F6) in the MV "Life Fee" composed by musician Dong Thien Duc.

However, Cao Thai Son's record-setting has also received mixed opinions. Responding to this, the male singer said: "In Vietnam, performing such high notes is still very new and no one has applied it yet. I am the first person to apply it in my product, so causing controversy is completely normal.

Everyone or anyone who has gone through vocal training can apply such high notes, try to sing that note like that or not. This will be the most correct answer and of course I cannot please everyone because being a public figure means being ready to accept all opinions. I also know how to apply those notes so that the song will be at an easy-to-listen frequency."

Talking about appearing in the online community's teasing clips after performing high notes at the premiere of the MV "Hoa giai bang nuoc mat", Cao Thai Son said he felt happy when watching these clips because whether being recognized or being teased, it was the motivation for him to try harder and sing live notes like that on stage to leave an impression on the audience who came to see him perform.

Previously, Ms. Vo Luu Lan Uyen - Head of the Vietnam Record Content Department, Deputy Secretary General of the Global Vietnamese Record Organization - said: "It can be said that to perform the extremely high note F6, with a normal voice of a singer, it is difficult to do. Even for someone who has been on stage for more than 20 years like singer Cao Thai Son, it takes a long time to practice."

Recently, Cao Thai Son also collaborated with Chau Khai Phong in the MV "Love in the dark". Notably, in this song, he also broke his own old record when singing the note G6.

The singer said he has always stuck to his ballad music style. "I have tried many genres of music, but I will keep my strengths and develop them to improve myself. People think it is a normal song, but when I can be creative and make the song more special in my own style, I find it very interesting," said Cao Thai Son.

Sharing about his first duet with Chau Khai Phong, the male singer revealed that when they had the chance to sit together, they both realized that their vocal ranges were opposite, but when combined, they created an interesting point for the song.

Cao Thai Son has a warm, husky voice while Chau Khai Phong has a high-pitched voice. The two support each other in singing high notes very well.
