Communes and towns of Tri Ton district gather to celebrate Chol Chnam Thmay festival

On the occasion of the traditional Chol Chnam Thmay New Year 2025, on April 10, 11, and 12, the Party Committees and People's Committees of communes and towns with a large number of Khmer ethnic minorities living in Tri Ton district organized meetings with cadres, civil servants, public employees, armed forces, union members, association members and typical ethnic policy families in the area.

In recent times, from the national target program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the period 2021 - 2030, the sustainable poverty reduction program and ethnic projects and policies, Khmer ethnic minorities in the district have been supported to purchase machinery, agricultural production tools, convert jobs, breeds and livelihood models; vocational training, job creation; support for dispersed domestic water and housing support, tuition exemption and reduction, scholarships, health insurance cards, etc.

In particular, the province and district cooperate with Khmer pagodas to open classes to teach pentatonic music, sa-dam drums, and palm-leaf engraving to preserve and promote traditional cultural values. Every year, on holidays and Tet, provincial, district, and commune leaders establish delegations to visit and wish a happy new year to Khmer Theravada pagodas, monks, monks, prestigious people, and typical families with meritorious services. In addition, from the central and local budgets and socialized sources, the district has implemented many rural traffic projects, installed lighting systems in villages and hamlets, and supported pagodas to upgrade and repair.

At the meeting, the leaders of the communes and towns acknowledged the contributions of cadres, civil servants, officials, union members and members of the Khmer ethnic minority in the overall development of the locality. They hoped that the forces would continue to promote the tradition of patriotism, national solidarity, enthusiastically compete to complete their tasks well; actively contribute to the work of building and consolidating a strong political system. Thereby, contributing to socio-economic development and sustainable poverty reduction in the locality.

On this occasion, leaders of communes and towns also presented gifts to delegates attending the meeting and sent wishes for a happy and peaceful new year, and a joyful, safe and economical Chol Chnam Thmay festival.
