Launching ceremony of Vietnam Green Skills Program

About the project

Green skills are understood as a set of knowledge, abilities and attitudes that help learners apply sustainable thinking to work and life, contributing to minimizing negative impacts on the environment. Green skills include vocational skills in environmentally friendly fields, as well as soft skills such as communication, teamwork and technology application in the context of green transformation.

The Green Skills Vietnam project is designed to equip disadvantaged youth with essential green skills to thrive in a changing sustainable labor market. The program includes a flexible combination of self-directed online learning, individual mentoring, community projects, and a sustainability innovation competition. Participants will explore topics such as: Green careers, effective communication skills, financial literacy, community-based problem solving, and sustainability.

This pioneering initiative is funded by the MetLife Foundation, managed by EDC and directly implemented by An Giang University.

Highlights of the launch

The launch ceremony brought together stakeholders, including representatives from MetLife, EDC, AGU and students interested in developing green skills, including those selected to participate in the first batch of the program.

The event program includes: Opening and welcome speeches from AGU, EDC and MetLife; overview of the program and course 1; sharing from representatives of course 1 students; inspirational speeches from MetLife representatives and Q&A session.

This event marks the beginning of a meaningful and impactful journey – empowering Vietnamese youth with green skills and sustainable thinking to create a brighter future together.
