Traffic police force receives documents at the Provincial Public Administration Center

Currently, the state management function of testing and granting driving licenses has been transferred from the transport sector to the police sector. The Traffic Police Department proactively coordinates with the professional departments of the Provincial Police, the Department of Transport and Driver Management (formerly the Department of Transport) to receive equipment, technology, driving license records, etc. At the same time, issue a plan to implement driving testing; install driving testing software provided by the Traffic Police Department at 3 driving training and testing centers, including: Road Motor Vehicle Driving Testing Center; Chau Doc Driving Training and Testing Center; Dong Bang Driving Training and Testing Center.

The driving license examination still uses the existing driving examination facility system. The centers provide facilities for the traffic police force to conduct the examination. The examiner or examination council will be carried out by the traffic police force. During the preparation process, the unit has arranged traffic police officers and soldiers to participate in the examination, and the Traffic Police Department has issued examiner cards. The examination software and techniques are installed in connection with the examination training centers throughout the province; they will be deployed immediately upon direction from the leaders of the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security).

In addition, the traffic police force is advising on the development of a system of legal documents, organizational structure, assignment of tasks and upgrading and perfecting the database system and driver testing software. When the necessary conditions are met, the driver's license testing will be directly organized for students.

From March 1 to April 11, 2025, the Traffic Police Department received 3,506 applications for driver's license renewal at the An Giang Provincial Public Administration Center. In the coming time, the unit will deploy driver's license renewal directly at commune-level units in the province. In particular, the driver's license issuance and renewal software on the National Public Service Portal has increased the issuance and renewal capacity from 3,000 to 10,000 driver's licenses/day. The Traffic Police Department has digitally signed more than 94,800 cases of driver's license renewal and re-issuance; automatically updated electronic driver's licenses for 93,890 cases on VNeiD.
