In a telegram sent to the Departments of Education and Training of coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Binh Thuan on the evening of October 24, the Ministry of Education and Training requested localities to closely monitor the developments of the storm and heavy rain. At the same time, organize 24/7 on-duty, implement the "four on-site" motto; regularly maintain contact with authorities and rescue forces to have timely response plans.

“Localities need to proactively review and assess the situation on the ground to consider letting students stay home from school, especially in areas vulnerable to storms and floods,” the Ministry of Education and Training stated. Ensure that information about school schedules and student safety is fully communicated to parents.

The Ministry of Education and Training recommends that localities develop plans to move assets, machinery, equipment, and tables and chairs to safe places to avoid damage. Be ready to support people to take shelter in educational facilities when safety is ensured. Immediately after the storm, organize cleaning of classrooms, repair damage to facilities, ensure safety and hygiene before welcoming students back to school.

In addition, it is necessary to continuously update information, summarize damage and develop a treatment plan, report to the Provincial People's Committee for a remedial plan, and at the same time report to the Ministry of Education and Training for synthesis and reporting to the Government.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 7:00 a.m. on October 23, storm No. 6 was centered at about 15.7 degrees North latitude; 124.6 degrees East longitude, in the sea east of Luzon Island (Philippines). The strongest wind near the storm center was level 9 (75-88 km/h), gusting to level 11; moving northwest at a speed of about 20 km/h.

It is forecasted that in the coming time, storm No. 6 will move mainly in the West direction, traveling 15-20km per hour, continuing to strengthen, sometimes reaching level 12 with gusts of level 15, likely directly affecting our country over a wide area. In addition, due to the influence of cold air, there may be prolonged heavy rain over a wide area, with the risk of flash floods, landslides and inundation in many places.
