According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the night and morning of October 30, the area from Ha Tinh to Quang Tri had heavy rain, to very heavy rain, some places reaching approximately 300mm.
It is forecasted that from October 30 to November 2, the area from Ha Tinh to Phu Yen will continue to have heavy rain, some places will have very heavy rain, with total rainfall of over 400mm. Rivers from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai are likely to experience a flood at alert level 1 to alert level 3, with a high risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas, and localized flooding in low-lying areas along rivers and urban areas.
To proactively respond to and minimize damage caused by natural disasters, the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control requests the Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control of provinces and cities from Nghe An to Phu Yen to continue implementing the content of Official Dispatch No. 399/VPTT dated October 29, 2023 of the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control.
At the same time, check and review plans to be ready to respond to extreme heavy rain situations exceeding 400mm/period, in the context that the Central provinces have just experienced heavy rain in the recent past.
The above localities review plans to respond to major floods on rivers; dispatch forces to be on duty at overflow areas, flooded, cut-off and landslide-prone roads; have plans to ensure safety and smooth traffic on main traffic routes when heavy rain and landslides occur.
