People with stomach pain should eat ginger, bananas, drink chamomile tea, and yogurt to help increase intestinal motility, reduce nausea and discomfort.
Stomach pain causes symptoms of bloating, cramps, diarrhea, cramps, nausea... Specialist Nguyen Thu Huyen, Department of Nutrition, Tam Anh General Hospital, Hanoi, said there are many ways to help relieve stomach pain, including some foods that help control the feeling of discomfort.
Ginger : Increases intestinal motility, can prevent indigestion, bloating, flatulence, reduce nausea. Make fresh ginger tea by cutting ginger into slices and steeping in hot water, add a little lemon or honey to enhance the flavor. Do not add too much ginger as it can easily upset the stomach. Drink only one or two cups of ginger tea per day.
Bananas : Stomach symptoms such as nausea and vomiting can easily cause dehydration and electrolyte loss such as potassium and sodium. Bananas contain high fiber content, which promotes water absorption from the intestines, supports stool binding, and is beneficial for the digestive system.
Bananas also have natural antacid properties, and their high potassium content helps increase mucus production in the stomach, preventing irritation of the stomach lining. The nutrients in bananas help increase resistance when the stomach and digestive system are having problems.
Expert Huyen notes that people with stomach pain should only eat ripe bananas, not green or underripe bananas because the substances in the latex can easily irritate the stomach, causing a feeling of hunger and discomfort. You should eat bananas about 20-30 minutes after a meal, not when hungry.
Chamomile Tea : Herbal teas are helpful in relieving stomach pain. The anti-inflammatory properties of chamomile soothe stomach pain. This drink is also beneficial for the digestive tract but should only be consumed 1-2 cups a day, do not consume too much as it can cause nausea and vomiting.

Yogurt : Stomach pain can be caused by a lack of certain probiotics, also known as good bacteria, in the gut. Yogurt is rich in probiotics, which help keep the gut in balance, reducing pain of unknown origin.
Starch : Consuming foods such as rice, bread, and potatoes in moderation can help reduce this condition. Simple carbohydrates are easy to digest and provide the necessary calories for the stomach. These starches help increase the absorption of excess water, reducing the contractions that cause discomfort when the stomach hurts.
Chicken : Adds protein to make it easier for the stomach to digest. Patients should eat skinless chicken to reduce the amount of fat in the diet, thereby reducing nausea and controlling diarrhea. Chicken should be prepared simply by steaming or boiling. Combining chicken with white rice or potatoes not only adds nutrition to the body but also reduces discomfort caused by stomach pain.
Coconut water : Rich in calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, replenishes fluids lost due to vomiting and diarrhea. In some cases, coconut water is used as a rehydration solution for children with diarrhea caused by gastroenteritis and cholera.
Specialist Huyen recommends that people with stomach pain do not eat dairy products, fried foods, stimulants... Highly acidic foods such as citrus fruits and tomatoes increase the risk of stomach pain, acid reflux, and worsen stomach pain symptoms.
Patients should see a doctor early if symptoms are severe, stomach pain accompanied by vomiting blood, severe abdominal pain, fever or bloody stools, stools turn black.
