CHINA - Recently, a coffee shop in Guangdong caused a stir when it announced a new type of coffee served with steamed chicken with coriander.
According to a post on Weibo , the staff at the cafe had to think hard to come up with a drink that would represent Guangdong province and they decided on chicken coffee.
The post also included a video showing how the unusual drink is made. Steamed chicken slices topped with coriander are placed in a glass of ice. The bartender then adds milk and coffee.
This unusual combination has caused a stir on Chinese social media, with many people saying they even clutched their stomachs after reading the news about this drink.
"Isn't it better to eat and drink separately?", one person commented.
Another netizen said the drink was really not tasty.
The wave of outrage shows no signs of stopping, with some people even calling the store to express their anger.
This isn’t the first time strange coffee variations have emerged in China. Earlier this year, the scallion coffee trend gained traction on the country’s social media platforms.
