The original information shared: "The Central Propaganda Department has consulted with the Ministry of Culture, requesting to edit the content of public opinion reflecting on Southern Forest Land: costumes, stories, associations... to ensure accuracy and consistency with history. Postpone the screening time for editing and review."
VTC News contacted the spokesperson of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) to clarify this information.
Mr. Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet - Chief of Office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that after checking, he did not receive any documents or information about the Central Propaganda Department sending a document requesting the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to temporarily suspend the release of the film Dat Rung Phuong Nam for review as the information is spreading on social networks.

Previously, on October 14, the Film Appraisal and Classification Council and a number of agencies and functional units re-appraised the film Southern Forest Land under the direction of the leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The producer's representative proactively proposed a plan to edit the film. Accordingly, the producer will remove the names and dialogues of "Thien Dia Hoi" and "Nghi Hoa Doan", replacing them with "Nam Hoa Doan" and "Chinh Nghia Hoi".
In addition, the film distributor will also adjust the line " The film is inspired by the novel Southern Forest Land by writer Doan Gioi" at the beginning of the film to clarify the change in the timeline in the literary work, following the TV series version more closely.
On October 16, Mr. Vi Kien Thanh - Director of the Department of Cinema confirmed that the Department had received the revised version of the film Southern Forest Land sent by the film producer. The Director of the Department of Cinema said that the revised version met the requirements to avoid causing misunderstandings and associations.
From 6:00 p.m. on October 16, cinemas will show the edited version of Southern Forest Land.
