According to the assessment of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan province: In 2023, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has focused on closely following and effectively implementing the key tasks assigned by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee in various fields of work, including advising on the organization of many outstanding activities, contributing to the successful implementation of the province's socio-economic development tasks. Specifically, 10 typical contents and activities of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2023 were voted as follows:
1. The 2023 National Tourism Year "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence" was opened with an impressive, grand and meaningful Opening Ceremony and continued with more than 200 vibrant, attractive and unique cultural, sports and tourism activities taking place throughout 2023 in Binh Thuan and 41 provinces and cities across the country; ending with a thoughtful and colorful Closing Ceremony, contributing to a resounding success of the 2023 National Tourism Year.
2. Taking over the relic site of Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee Base during the resistance war against the US. This is a place to preserve and maintain the heroic and glorious revolutionary historical tradition of Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee during the resistance war against the US in particular, and the history of the provincial Party Committee in general during the period 1954 - 1975. Turning those historical and spiritual values into a place to foster awareness, love for the homeland and national pride for all classes of the people of the province, a place to return to for everyone, especially the generations of today and tomorrow.
3. Organize Binh Thuan Street Culture Week 2023 with many unique contents and activities; organize the first International Performing Arts Festival 2023 - Binh Thuan, Vietnam with the participation of art troupes, domestic and international delegates... attracting a large number of people and tourists to attend and enjoy the arts.
4. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee issued Directive No. 09/CT-UBND dated December 29, 2023 directing the strengthening of state management, continuing to improve, exploit and promote the effectiveness of grassroots cultural and sports institutions in communes, wards and towns in the province.
5. High-performance sports have achieved many outstanding results at regional, national and international sports competitions; in particular, athlete Hoang Thi Anh Thuc won a gold medal at the Asian Youth Athletics Championship and was selected as a typical national example in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style in 2023 in the field of physical education and sports.
6. Organize the Vietnam Motorcycle Festival - Binh Thuan 2023 for the first time and set a Vietnam Guinness record for the largest and longest motorcycle parade; organize the 2023 Kite Festival to set a Guinness record for the largest kite in Vietnam and combine it with a supercar parade.
7. Successfully hosted a series of regional and national sports tournaments that attracted a large number of athletes, attracting domestic and foreign tourists to watch and cheer.
8. Binh Thuan tourism has developed strongly; for the first time, the province welcomed over 8.5 million visitors with total tourism revenue reaching over 23,000 billion VND; it is one of the 9 provinces and cities with the highest tourism revenue in the country.
9. New tourism products and routes have been invested in and developed, attracting a large number of tourists to visit and experience such as: Eco-tourism, agricultural tourism; Ta Nang - Phan Dung route, Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee Base Relic Site route during the resistance war against the US - Ham Thuan Lake and Da Mi Lake... contributing to the formation of Tours: up the forest - down the sea, mainland - sea and islands...
10. Wonderland Water Park at NovaWorld Phan Thiet was officially put into operation. This is a new tourism product in Binh Thuan, with a capacity of welcoming more than 6,000 visitors per day, attracting tens of thousands of visitors to visit and experience during the year.
