On the afternoon of December 25, at the press conference and information on the socio-economic, defense and security situation in 2024, Mr. Vo Anh Tuan, Chief of Office of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee said: In 2024, the economic sectors and fields of Binh Duong province will continue to recover, grow and shift in a positive direction. In particular, industry, trade, services and exports achieved high growth compared to the same period last year.

Accordingly, industrial production grew quite well compared to the same period, key industries recovered positively. In particular, the internal structure of basic industry had positive changes, gradually reducing the mining industry and shifting from labor-intensive industries to high-tech industries.
Specifically, the industrial production index (IIP) is estimated to increase by 7.6% (in 2023, it will increase by 6.1%), of which the processing and manufacturing industry will increase by 8.29%. Thereby, it will continue to play the main driving force in the province's economic growth, contributing to socio-economic development, promoting trade and services (estimated to increase by 13.3%).
Notably, exports are a bright spot in Binh Duong's economic picture in 2024. Specifically, Binh Duong's import-export turnover in 2024 is estimated to reach 59 billion USD. Of which, export turnover reached 34.5 billion USD, up 12.7% over the same period; import turnover reached 24.5 billion USD, up 12.2% (exceeding the annual plan). Trade surplus reached 10 billion USD.
Regarding investment attraction, the representative of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee also said: In 2024, Binh Duong will continue to attract over 80 trillion VND in registered domestic business capital and over 2.2 billion USD in foreign direct investment (FDI). Up to now, the whole province has 73,600 domestic enterprises with a total registered capital of 807 trillion VND and 4,400 foreign-invested projects with a total registered capital of 42.4 billion USD.
In general, Binh Duong's socio-economic situation in 2024 will maintain positive development and achieve positive results in all areas. Economic growth (GRDP) will have a clear change, the economic structure will shift in the right direction. Trade, service, import-export activities will continue to grow; the environment to attract domestic and foreign investors will be improved.
Along with that, the management of budget revenue and expenditure tasks was effective (total state budget revenue in the area was 71,234 billion VND, an increase of 10% of the estimate assigned by the Prime Minister and equal to 100% of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council); budget spending was economical; ensuring balance of expenditure for urgent tasks arising. In particular, credit institutions actively implemented interest rate policies and improved procedures to support capital needs for businesses. Social security was ensured; political security and social order and safety were maintained and stabilized.
However, in addition to the achieved results, Binh Duong People's Committee recognized that there are still some limitations such as: The total product in the province and GRDP per capita increased compared to the same period but did not reach the set plan. Investment attraction in some high-tech industries is not much. Business operations are still difficult.
In addition, the progress of some transport projects is still slow; land valuation, approval of specific land prices for compensation, site clearance, fulfillment of financial obligations, and land auctions have encountered difficulties...
To promote production, business and export activities in 2025, the People's Committee of Binh Duong province said: The province prioritizes promoting economic growth, increasing investment, consumption and export, along with restructuring the economy towards renewing the growth model, improving competitiveness and sustainable development.
