In conjunction with the race, the organizers also implemented the Green Tree Program and the Economic Development Solutions Seminar associated with international cultural and sporting events.
The seminar was attended by experts in economics, tourism, culture, hydrometeorology... Mr. Lam Hai Giang, Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, said that the province is identifying tourism as a spearhead economic sector of the province. In 2022, tourism revenue will reach 13,000 billion VND (6.5 times higher than the same period last year), with the total number of tourists to the province reaching 4.12 million.
Mr. Lam Hai Giang also informed about the process of calling for and organizing the Quy Nhon International Sailing and Paddleboard Race 2023 - "Journey to green the sea". In addition, the race is the opening event of a series of international sports events that the province has just signed with a partner in Italy, scheduled to be held in March 2024.

Accordingly, Binh Dinh will coordinate with Binh Dinh F1 Joint Stock Company and other units and partners to co-organize the UIM F1H2O International Professional Powerboat Race and Aquabike Quy Nhon City, expected to be held at Thi Nai Lagoon (Binh Dinh), attracting 40 participating countries.
However, at the discussion, many opinions said that the amount of gasoline used for these competitions used about 9,000 liters of A92 gasoline, 2,000 liters of A95 gasoline and about 8,000 liters of jet fuel... This raised concerns about the possibility of emissions, especially at a time when the world is in the "Net-zero" race (net zero emissions) that the Vietnamese Government is committed to implementing.
Mr. Tran Viet Anh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Binh Dinh F1 Joint Stock Company, said that the company will try to minimize emissions by integrating green recycling programs into a series of events such as the Festival.
Professor Dr. Tran Thuc, Chairman of the Vietnam Meteorological and Hydrological Association, also believes that with the determination of the provincial leaders and the high consensus of the people, the UIM F1H2O International Professional Motor Boat Championship and Aquabike will take place successfully.
“To be more successful, localities need to focus on linking and closely linking the three elements of culture, sports and tourism. As for emissions, the F1 boats are not large, but they are also emissions, so in the long term, the organizing unit needs to aim to convert engines to reduce emissions or have some measures to protect the environment and reduce emissions,” said Prof. Dr. Tran Thuc.
In conjunction with these races, the province organizes cultural festivals, food, music, fashion festivals, conferences and seminars to attract economic investment in marine sports...

Experts also mentioned the sports economy, saying that in the world, especially China and the US, this industry is strongly developing; Vietnam has a lot of potential with an estimated revenue of 320 million USD/year, so it is necessary to focus on this industry.
