According to Forbes, Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong - Chairman of Vingroup (HOSE: VIC) - is ranked 636th in the list of the richest billionaires in the world. His total net worth as of today, January 16, is 4.5 billion USD.
The second Vietnamese billionaire on Forbes' list is Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Vietjet Air (HOSE: VJC). She is holding a net worth of 2.3 billion USD.
The next person to appear in the ranking is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hoa Phat Group Joint Stock Company (HOSE: HPG) - Mr. Tran Dinh Long. The total assets of the "big brother" of the steel industry is 2.3 billion USD, increased significantly thanks to HPG shares becoming the mainstay of the stock market in recent sessions. HPG code increased 2.58% today to 27,800 VND/share.
According to the Vietnam Steel Association, boosted by accelerated public investment disbursement and the progress of the real estate industry, this year's total steel production and consumption are forecast to increase compared to last year.
Also owning assets of 1.4 billion USD are Mr. Ho Hung Anh - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Techcombank (HOSE: TCB) and Mr. Tran Ba Duong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Thaco.
Notably, Forbes officially removed Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Masan Group (HOSE: MSN) from the list of the richest people on the planet. Most of the asset value of Masan Group Chairman is calculated based on the number of MSN shares owned by him and his family. According to statistics, Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang holds nearly 45% of Masan Group shares through Masan Joint Stock Company and Hoa Huong Duong. MSN shares are currently priced at VND 67,100/share, down 53% from the peak of VND 142,000/share in December 2021.
Over the past few years, Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang has been in and out of the Forbes list. His assets fluctuate between 1 and 1.9 billion USD. The peak recorded by Forbes was 1.9 billion USD in April 2022.
