Kun Marathon is a free race for children aged 6-10, but recently many fake pages have appeared, asking parents to transfer money to register.

Searching for the keyword "Kun Marathon" on Facebook to register her 8-year-old son to participate, Ms. Ngan Anh, Hue City was confused when there were nearly a dozen fanpages with similar names. Last year, she heard from her friends about the colorful running tournament for children taking place in major cities across the country. When she learned that Kun Marathon was coming to Hue this April, she was determined to register her son to participate.

Ms. Ngan Anh went to a fanpage called "Kun Marathon Kid". This fanpage has many posts calling on parents to register with many benefits such as a 1 million VND shopping voucher, a 15 million VND scholarship for runners with high achievements. "The page is very professional and full of information, so I don't think it's fake," said this parent.

However, after following the registration steps, Ms. Ngan Anh was added to the Telegram group and asked to transfer money to verify the information. After completion, she will receive the transferred amount back along with a commission. "At this step, I felt strange so I did not transfer money. I asked my friends who joined last year and found out that this was a fake page," Ms. Ngan Anh said.

Not only this fanpage, according to the Kun Marathon Organizing Committee, there are currently nearly ten other fake fanpages. To attract parents, these fanpages also run advertisements on many platforms. Many parents reported that they transferred money to register for a race slot and were promised that their children would be able to participate when the event took place.

The Kun Marathon organizers said that there is currently only one fanpage, Kun Marathon, on the Facebook platform. Before each tournament, the organizers will announce the opening of free registration and close it when the number is full, without requiring a transfer. In addition, to update information about Kun Marathon, parents can also join the official LOF Kun Marathon group. All other pages are fake.

The most recent Kun Marathon took place in Hue on April 20. Three weeks before the race, the organizers opened the registration portal for 1,000 early runners through a minigame. On April 10, the official registration portal opened, reaching 2,000 people in less than two days. 2,000 children registered through two registration rounds will participate in the race on April 20, at the Imperial Citadel.

The children are divided into groups, according to age, and take turns conquering the nearly 1km long race track. Along the race track, they will have to overcome obstacles. This is both a challenge and an interesting aspect of the competition.
