At the meeting, comrades Luong Nguyen Minh Triet and Padomphon Sonthani reviewed important historical milestones in the cause of protecting, building and developing the two provinces of Quang Nam and Salavan; the traditional friendly and cooperative relationship between Quang Nam and the provinces of South Central Laos, including Salavan and the sister province of Sekong (Laos).

Comrade Padomphon Sonthani said that up to now, Salavan province has made significant progress, notably in economic growth (GDP) and per capita income. However, Salavan is still a difficult province among the southern Lao localities.

Expressing his joy at the development of Quang Nam, according to comrade Padomphon Xonthani, in the coming time, the leaders of the two provinces of Quang Nam - Salavan will coordinate to build a close and fruitful cooperative relationship. From there, it will contribute to fostering and deepening the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos - Vietnam, Vietnam - Laos; between the two provinces of Quang Nam - Salavan to increasingly bear fruit, forever green, forever sustainable.

Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet shared that the activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Quang Nam and the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee are an opportunity for the whole province to express gratitude for the sacrifices of generations of fathers and brothers for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

Informing the delegation about some of Quang Nam's development achievements after nearly 30 years of separation, comrade Luong Nguyen Minh Triet also acknowledged that the relationship between Quang Nam - Salavan has not had many cooperative activities in economics, culture, and building the political system.

At the same time, we believe that with the potential and advantages of each side, in the coming time, Quang Nam - Salavan will research together, on that basis, coordinate to organize more effective and practical activities, supporting mutual development.
