NDO - In order to honor the beauty and strength of women, and at the same time bring warm moments to female patients being treated at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, the program "8-3 To Love" took place with the participation of nearly 500 people, including more than 200 Thalassemia patients.
This is a practical activity to celebrate the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day, and at the same time towards World Thalassemia Day on May 8, with the desire to raise public awareness about this disease.
Master Dang Thi Van Hong, Deputy Director of the Thalassemia Center, shared that Thalassemia is a genetic disease that can be controlled if detected early and treated properly. However, the most important thing is that patients need to have faith and motivation to live happily and healthily.

"We hope today's program will give female patients more spiritual strength to live with and overcome their illness," said Master Van Hong.
According to Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Bich, Head of the Sharing Love Group, representative of the co-organizing unit, today's gifts are not only material, but also great spiritual encouragement for the sisters. She hopes that these meaningful moments will help female patients feel the care and love from the community.

In addition to the exciting performances, the female patients were also presented with Ao Dai during the program. They also shared their journey of overcoming their illness and their optimism when they were encouraged, shared with and treated wholeheartedly by the doctors at the hospital.
The highlight of the event was the performance “Ao Dai Charm”, where female patients confidently strode, expressing their joy and pride in wearing traditional costumes. They are not only patients, but also strong, resilient women who deserve to be honored.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, a Thalassemia patient, choked up: "This is the first time I fully feel the atmosphere of March 8. For a long time, I have always felt self-conscious because of my illness, but today, I really feel more beautiful and confident."

The program ended with the song “Wonderful Things”, when all the patients, doctors, and volunteers sang together, creating an emotional atmosphere. The applause was endless, and bright smiles appeared on the faces of each participant.
Not only is it an event to celebrate International Women’s Day, the program “8-3 To Love” is also an opportunity for the community to better understand Thalassemia, and at the same time send a message of love to those who are fighting this disease. With the cooperation of society, it is hoped that each patient will have more faith and determination to continue the challenging but also loving journey.
