Turning the “desert” into an advantage
Binh Thuan has a terrain of mainly low hills and mountains, narrow coastal plains, in which coastal sand dunes and low hills occupy the majority of the natural area. The tropical monsoon climate near the equator brings this land a lot of sunshine, wind and no winter, making Binh Thuan the driest region in the country.
Standing out in the middle of the "desert" full of wind, sand and sun, Bau Trang U&Me tourist area has taken advantage of the harsh weather, turning those difficulties into advantages, attracting a large number of tourists to visit when coming to Binh Thuan.
Established in late 2019 as a small tourist facility, at that time, Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area was not the first tourist unit to stop here. Then, the COVID-19 outbreak forced the business to temporarily suspend operations. However, with perseverance, effort and hard work, to date, Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area has grown in both scale and quality.

Mr. Pham Van Trong, Director of Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area, shared: “At that time, we only had 12 employees with a total investment of up to 20 billion VND, the most difficult thing was to affirm the brand so that people would remember, know and visit. With efforts, determination as well as support from the locality, up to now, Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area has become a tourist destination in Bau Trang landscape in particular and Binh Thuan province in general”.
Having been with Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area since the early days, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhi, currently a food and beverage staff at Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area, has an income of more than 10 million VND/month. She said: “I used to stay at home and do farming, but since working for Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area, my income and my family’s life have become increasingly stable, both having a steady job and contributing to building a rich and beautiful homeland of Bac Binh”.

New tourism products
With an investment of more than 50 billion VND, Bau Trang U&Me tourist area of 1.5 hectares is now fully equipped with a parking lot system, waiting room, reception area, resting areas, dining areas, entertainment areas, etc. Despite the "huge" investment cost and full and modern equipment, Bau Trang U&Me tourist area still retains its natural landscape, creating a comfortable and relaxing feeling for visitors when playing and resting here.
Therefore, in the past three years, Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area has been continuously "chosen" by the locality to organize many regional and national events, attracting thousands of participants. Especially in 2023, when Binh Thuan hosts the National Tourism Year 2023 "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence", many cultural, sports and tourism events of national, regional and provincial scale have been successfully organized here.
First of all, we must mention the success of the Stop And Run Marathon Binh Thuan BTV organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VHTTDL), Binh Thuan Radio and Television Station, Tuy Phong and Bac Binh District People's Committees and other units for the first time in 2022. The tournament not only attracted nearly 1,000 domestic and foreign athletes to participate but also thousands of tourists to watch and enjoy. Here, everyone had the opportunity to admire the race on the coastal route known as "The most beautiful coastal route in Vietnam" Hoa Thang - Hoa Phu.

From this success, the tournament has become an annual sporting event, attracting thousands of participants and increasing each year (nearly 1,800 athletes in 2023 and more than 4,500 athletes in 2024), creating the premise for large-scale events in Binh Thuan province.
2023 is a major milestone marking a major turning point in all aspects for Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area when Binh Thuan is honored to become the locality to organize the National Tourism Year 2023. Since then, Bau Trang in general and Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area in particular have further affirmed their brand by continuously successfully organizing many grand, large-scale events, receiving many Vietnam Guinness records.
First of all, the Moto Festival 2023, held in February 2023, gathered more than 2,000 bikers from all over the country to participate in the parade. The program set a Guinness Vietnam Record: The largest motorcycle parade in Vietnam.
In October of the same year, Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area continued to be selected by the province to organize the "Kite Festival and Supercar Parade" attracting more than 3,500 participants. This event had the participation of about 1,000 kites, 60 supercars of all kinds, making visitors amazed by the scale of the organization and the level of grandeur. On this occasion, the event set a Guinness record for the largest kite in Vietnam with a kite covering an area of over 800m2.
Mr. Tran Minh Trien, Vice President of Binh Thuan Kite Federation, commented that Bau Trang U&Me is a perfect destination for tourists, especially those who are passionate about sports and outdoor tourism. Through the events of Bau Trang U&Me tourist area, the green tourism image of Binh Thuan will be spread to domestic and international tourists.

Not only that, in the first days of December 2023, Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area continued to cooperate with HTV Television Station, Binh Thuan Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Minh Giang Company Limited to host the Bau Trang Sand Off-Road Racing - HTV Challenge Cup 2023. The race with nearly 150 athletes participating in 2 events: dirt bikes and off-road cars.
Mr. Thai Thanh Chung - Deputy Director of HTV, representative of the Organizing Committee, said that for the first time, athletes will experience competing on a very unique terrain at Bau Trang sand hill, Binh Thuan. "We always want to bring excitement, new, attractive and thrilling moments to the audience and fans. At the same time, the tournament also wants to contribute to promoting the cultural values and unique tourism products of Binh Thuan in particular and Vietnam in general to everyone", said Mr. Thai Thanh Chung.

Join hands for tourism industry
Choosing its own path, turning the "desert" full of wind, sand, and sun into an indispensable stop for tourists while preserving nature and local identity, over the past 5 years, Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area has achieved many successes. In particular, to commend and encourage the outstanding achievements in advising, organizing, deploying, and implementing the 2023 National Tourism Year "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence" in the locality, at the end of 2023, Bau Trang U&Me Tourist Area was honored to receive a certificate of merit from the Chairman of Binh Thuan Provincial People's Committee.
Mr. Huynh Ngoc Tam, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan province commented that the joint organization of festivals is expected to create a spreading effect so that domestic and international tourists and friends will know more about the land, culture and scenic spots of Binh Thuan. At the same time, it will create rich and diverse tourism products, serving the development of Binh Thuan tourism. Thereby, promoting Bau Trang as a relic that needs to be protected, promoting the value of cultural heritage to serve the development of local tourism, contributing to raising awareness and actions of the people in preserving and promoting tangible and intangible cultural values and scenic spots in the province.
