At 1:00 p.m. on March 16, in the sea area of ​​Tho Chau commune, Phu Quoc city (Kien Giang), the working group of An Thoi Port Border Guard Station presided over and coordinated with ship BP 20-19-01 of Tho Chau Border Guard Station to inspect fishing boat KG 95720 TS.

The ship is captained by Mr. Nguyen Viet Phan, 43 years old, residing in Hung Yen commune, An Bien district (Kien Giang), in addition to 2 crew members on board. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the ship KG 95720 TS had tanks containing about 21,000 liters of light yellow liquid suspected to be DO oil.

At the time of inspection, Mr. Nguyen Viet Phan and two crew members confessed that the light yellow liquid was DO oil that Mr. Phan bought from a strange ship of unknown origin in Vietnamese waters, with the purpose of buying to resell for profit, and could not present documents proving the legality of the above DO oil.

The working group made a record, brought people, vehicles and all evidence to Vinh Dam port, Suoi Lon hamlet, Duong To commune, Phu Quoc city for investigation and handling.
