Changes in the revolutionary homeland of Binh Tan

During the resistance war, Binh Tan commune was one of the revolutionary bases of Tay Son district. In particular, the victory of Thuan Ninh in 1965 was not only the first victory of the army and people of Tay Son district over the US, but also the victory of the army and people of Binh Dinh province in defeating the US airborne operation on the Binh Dinh battlefield, contributing significantly to the victory of the resistance war against the invading US imperialists, completely liberating the South and reunifying the country in 1975.

Promoting the revolutionary tradition of the homeland, over the past 50 years, the Party Committee, government and people of Binh Tan have united to overcome all difficulties and challenges to build the homeland to develop more and more.

A highlight in the socio-economic development of Binh Tan commune in recent times is the development of industrial and handicraft production. Up to now, the commune has 12 enterprises and 6 production and business establishments. A typical example is Ha My Company Limited operating in the field of production and breeding. Currently, the company is raising 300 thousand laying hens with a modern, closed automatic breeding system, ensuring disease safety.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Quy, Manager of Ha My Company Limited, said that the Company received a lot of attention and support from Binh Tan Commune, Tay Son District in carrying out administrative procedures, site clearance, and was supported by local people in production and business activities. On average, the Company achieves a monthly output of 7.5 million eggs, with a revenue of about 10 billion VND, creating stable jobs for 50 local workers with an average income of 8 - 9 million VND/person/month.

Mr. Ho Sy Lai, Vice Chairman of Binh Tan Commune People's Committee, said that with the advantage of the locality having a large forest area, in recent years, local people have paid attention to planting forests in the direction of planting large timber trees and developing forests with FSC certification, thanks to which the value of forestry production in the area is increasingly high. The number of livestock and poultry in the commune is increasing, the rate of crossbred cows is over 95%, crossbred pigs is over 100%. Along with the widely invested canal system, the commune has encouraged people to boldly convert most of the ineffective cassava growing area to growing peanuts and some other upland crops, achieving better economic efficiency.

In the past 5 years alone (2020 - 2025), the average growth rate of key production sectors in Binh Tan reached 12.84%, an increase of 0.84% ​​compared to the target set by the Resolution of the Commune Party Congress, the economic structure shifted towards gradually increasing the proportion of industry - handicraft - service sectors and gradually reducing the proportion of agriculture and forestry; people's lives are increasingly improved, average income per capita reached 65.4 million VND/year, the poverty rate of the whole commune decreased by 2.5%/year, the commune met new rural standards in 2021.
