"Bridge" between the Party, government and people

98 years ago, on June 21, 1925, the Thanh Nien newspaper, the newspaper founded by President Ho Chi Minh, then the leader of the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association, published its first issue, marking the birth of Vietnam's revolutionary press. Just 3 years later, in 1928, the first Coal Newspaper for miners was published. Later, many other revolutionary newspapers were born in the mining region.

During the years when the whole nation was fighting for national salvation, the Mining Region press focused on propagating the task of both producing, fighting the enemy, and building a strong rear. The reporter force closely followed key areas to promptly and accurately inform about the spirit of sticking to production, determined to fight, determined to win of the army and people in the province; at the same time, promptly propagandized about advanced models in all fields, arousing the heroic and glorious emulation spirit of the army and people in the province.

Entering the period of innovation and international integration, Quang Ninh press continues to play the role of the main force in orienting public opinion, propagating, encouraging and motivating the entire Party, people and army to successfully implement the innovation policy initiated and led by the Party. The image of journalists working selflessly in preventing and fighting crimes, natural disasters, storms and floods, hot spots everywhere and at all times has become familiar and especially recently, the press soldiers in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic to promptly and accurately inform the public about the situation. Quang Ninh press increasingly affirms its position and role in the cause of building, protecting and developing the country; clearly demonstrating its function as the mouthpiece of the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Quang Ninh province.

The province currently has one press agency, the Quang Ninh Provincial Media Center; 13 district-level Media - Cultural Centers; 70 press agencies of the Central Government, departments, ministries, branches... setting up representative offices, assigning resident reporters, specialized reporters to monitor the area in Quang Ninh. The team of journalists in the province has grown rapidly in quantity and quality with hundreds of journalists, including 433 members in 6 branches, inter-branches and the Provincial Senior Journalists Club. The team of journalists in Quang Ninh has best promoted its role and function; the province's press agencies have constantly strived to innovate, focusing on improving the quality of publications, approaches to readers, radio listeners, television viewers in various forms of print, electronic, radio, television... to convey the fastest, most timely, and earliest information orientation.

Comrade Hoang Van Sinh, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the Tien Yen District People's Committee, affirmed: The press team in the province has accompanied the Party Committee, government, and political system from the district to the grassroots level; promptly provided and oriented information on the development policies of the country, the province, and the district to the majority of people as well as outstanding issues in the implementation of Party policies and State laws in the area. From the issues reflected by the press, the district has promptly reviewed and overcome shortcomings and limitations to have effective leadership and direction for implementation.

Secretary of Ba Che District Party Committee Vu Thanh Long emphasized: Quang Ninh press has recently made an important contribution to propaganda, mobilization and encouragement of people to carry out key tasks in Ba Che district such as planting large timber forests, new rural areas, socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas... Thereby, it has helped Ba Che district to well implement the set goals of socio-economic development, the project of developing large timber trees as well as the program of building new rural areas.

In line with the vibrant reality of the province, the Quang Ninh press has recently provided accurate, timely, oriented and attractive information and propaganda about the strong development in all fields, contributing to building the image of a Quang Ninh with rich potential, distinct advantages and outstanding opportunities. Press agencies and journalists always closely follow reality, actively propagate the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; encourage and support cadres, party members and people in the struggles for national independence and freedom and the implementation of the renovation policy initiated and led by our Party; actively participate in the work of building a clean and strong Party and political system, fighting against corruption and negativity; refuting the distorted views and arguments of hostile forces and disgruntled opportunists, protecting the Party's ideological foundation; consolidating and strengthening the great national unity bloc.

Journalistic works are constantly being created with a focus on quality, constantly being innovated but always maintaining the Party's viewpoints and political lines and the national cultural identity; aiming at truth - goodness - beauty, promoting the good, criticizing the bad, building love for the homeland, love between people, responsibility for family and society... Quang Ninh's press publications are increasingly improved and highly professional. In recent years, there have been more and more journalistic works winning high prizes at national press awards, many specialized press awards of ministries, branches, and provinces. This is the honor and pride of the team of journalists in the area.

Join hands to build Quang Ninh to become more and more developed

Recognizing the important role, position and contributions of the press, Quang Ninh province always pays special attention and shares to press activities such as: Creating the best conditions for journalists to work; strictly implementing the provisions of the law on press in social life; strictly handling acts that hinder the press from operating legally.

Comrade Cao Tuong Huy, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Comrade Mai Vu Tuan, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association, Director of the Provincial Media Center awarded the First Prize to the authors who won the Quang Ninh Provincial Journalism Award in 2022.

Since 2012, Quang Ninh province has maintained communication cooperation with over 30 press and media agencies; the network of reporters, propagandists, social opinion collaborators, cultural and artistic collaborators at all levels has developed widely with over 6,000 people; the number of newspapers and magazines published ranks 5th in the group of localities with the highest number in the country. The province also advocates promoting the publicity of information in the press, especially on current pressing issues such as site clearance, land disputes, complaint settlement, cumbersome administrative procedures, etc. to promote the spirit of democracy, creating consensus in resolving all issues in a transparent, public and clear manner.

In the current development process, Quang Ninh is facing great opportunities and chances to realize its aspiration for prosperity, but also has to face many challenges.

Speaking at the ceremony to celebrate the 98th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day on June 21, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Cao Tuong Huy emphasized: The companionship, sharing and actions of press agencies and journalists on the basis of promoting the tradition of "sharp pen, pure heart, bright mind", have contributed significantly to Quang Ninh province in achieving the common goal. Press agencies continue to be a bridge to convey information between the Party, the government and the people; a bridge to inspire and create trust for people to understand the ideology, vision, strategy and actions of the province so that people can encourage, motivate and respond to the good work the province is doing, share the difficulties of the province and contribute ideas and criticisms on difficulties, shortcomings and problems for the provincial leaders to analyze, listen and absorb in promulgating, implementing and supervising during the implementation process. At the same time, it also reflects the aspirations, wishes, satisfactions and dissatisfactions of the people so that the provincial leaders can make timely, effective and realistic adjustments.

With the tradition of solidarity and high sense of responsibility, the team of journalists in the province will continue to devote themselves to better fulfilling the assigned political tasks, creating more good journalistic works that attract viewers and listeners.

To carry out this task, Comrade Mai Vu Tuan, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association, Director of the Provincial Media Center, said: In the coming time, the Provincial Journalists Association will continue to focus on political and ideological education so that a large number of members and journalists will deeply understand their role as pioneering revolutionary soldiers on the ideological and cultural front of the Party; improve the political capacity of journalists in the province by increasing political theory and professional training courses. The Association will accompany press agencies, strongly promote the application of information technology, digital transformation in press activities, and make the most of the internet platform to build a model of a convergent newsroom, integrating multimedia, and transmitting on multiple platforms, becoming a strong multimedia press agency.
