The British newspaper Telegraph commented that Vietnam tourism is booming in 2023 as it becomes an ideal destination for international visitors, with competitive prices.
According to the Telegraph , Vietnam tourism is on the rise. Favorable new visa regulations and a growing luxury tourism industry are driving international arrivals back up.
“Vietnam has focused on developing itself as a luxury travel destination post-pandemic, which has seen a strong push for new luxury hotels, improved services from existing providers and a focus on local infrastructure,” said Parveen Jackson, product director at Luxtripper, the UK’s most influential luxury travel brand. “While the focus on luxury travel continues to grow, the price point for an all-inclusive package in Vietnam remains very reasonable without compromising on service or quality.”
According to a survey report by The Post Office on the cost of long-haul travel, prices in some popular tourist destinations have fallen. This is due to the appreciation of the British pound against many other currencies. The pound has increased by 13.3% against the Vietnamese dong compared to September 2022, so Vietnam will be a destination worth considering for British visitors.
The Post Office report said that compared to 2022, prices of goods including food, drinks at restaurants, bars or essential items at supermarkets have decreased in 88% of the destinations they surveyed. Among them, Hoi An (Vietnam) has the cheapest prices. Ranked 2nd and 3rd in the top 10 are Bali (Indonesia) and Phuket (Thailand), respectively.

Sadudee Sangnil, director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand's London office, said the biggest challenge hindering the tourism industry's recovery is expensive airfares and flight frequency.
The pace of tourism recovery in 2022 is slow due to some countries still restricting entry and exit. However, after the pandemic, tourism demand will increase significantly in 2023. This allows travel companies to negotiate better prices with service providers, thereby offering more preferential prices to their customers.

As of the end of September 2023, Vietnam had welcomed 8.9 million international visitors, exceeding the target set for this year. The tourism industry expects the number of visitors to continue to increase when flights are restored and visa policies are more open and favorable.
