Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club made history by becoming the first team from Vietnam and Southeast Asia to reach the semi-finals of the Women's Asian Cup 1. Huynh Nhu and her teammates made an incredible comeback to win 5-4, despite being 0-3 down after the first half.
Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club's semi-final opponent is the winner of the match between Urawa Red Diamonds (Japan) and Wuhan Jiangda (China). In this match, both teams failed to score during the match and the result had to be decided by a penalty shootout.
In the penalty shootout, Wuhan Jiangda was the better team, winning 6-5, thereby entering the semi-finals.
As scheduled, the semi-final match between Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club and Wuhan Jiangda will take place on May 21. Huynh Nhu and her teammates will face a big challenge if they want to reach the final when they have to face a strong away team.
The other semi-final match will also take place on May 21 between Incheon Red Angels (Korea) and Melbourne City (Australia).
