Handing over clean site for construction of Cao Lanh route upgrade

The Ministry of Transport has just issued a document directing the My Thuan Project Management Board to implement the investment project to upgrade the Cao Lanh - Lo Te route in Dong Thap province and Can Tho city to reorganize traffic.

To ensure the goal of completing the project to meet quality requirements and on schedule, first of all, site clearance, the Ministry of Transport requires the My Thuan Project Management Board (investor) to continue to coordinate with specialized agencies of the Can Tho City People's Committee to urgently complete compensation procedures and hand over clean site to the contractor in August 2024.

"The investor also needs to continue to coordinate with experts from Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee to promptly propose and clearly identify sand mines that meet the requirements on reserves and quality to serve the project's construction," the Ministry of Transport requested.

Regarding construction implementation, the investor is assigned to request the units to adjust the detailed progress of the construction package; increase and supplement personnel and construction equipment lines, complete the field testing station system; add more construction teams and focus on immediately implementing bridge and culvert construction items.

"The contractor must urgently mobilize the installation of an asphalt concrete mixing station system and test input materials, design asphalt concrete mixtures, conduct trial paving, and have solutions to mobilize materials to the construction site early so that the asphalt concrete project can be mass-produced when the weather is favorable, ensuring early completion before next year's rainy season.

The My Thuan Project Management Board also needs to direct units to urgently improve the organizational structure, regularly rectify, strengthen inspection and supervision of the organization of the construction management system, progress management, construction quality management, labor safety management, traffic safety and environmental sanitation, ensuring compliance with construction law regulations and ensuring the quality and progress requirements of the project," the document stated.

The Cao Lanh - Lo Te route upgrade project has a total length of nearly 29km. The starting point is at An Binh intersection (intersecting with National Highway 30 at Km 31+103), in An Binh commune, Cao Lanh district, Dong Thap province. The end point connects with Lo Te - Rach Soi route, in Can Tho city.

The investment scale includes asphalt concrete paving the main road surface and building a system of service roads along the route, arranging a fence system and completing the traffic safety system.

The project has a total investment of 950 billion VND from the State budget, started in April 2024 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
