The General Secretary's article as a Political Platform in the new period

On the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the Party's founding (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2024), General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong wrote an article "Proud and confident under the glorious flag of the Party, determined to build an increasingly rich, civilized, cultured and heroic Vietnam."

The messages conveyed in the article by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong were highly appreciated by cadres, party members and people of Ho Chi Minh City; contributing to arousing national pride among all classes of people, uniting and determined to build the country.

Studying the General Secretary's article, Dr. Vu Trung Kien, Regional Political Academy II, said that the ideas in the General Secretary's article are of the nature of a Political Platform.

According to Dr. Vu Trung Kien, the content of the article is the feeling of pride in the glorious Party, the great Vietnam, the heroic Vietnamese people. With the Vietnamese ethic of "remembering the source of water when drinking water", the main theme of the entire article is gratitude and appreciation for the contributions of President Ho Chi Minh, of predecessors, of comrades, and compatriots so that the country can have "the foundation, potential, position, and international prestige as it is today."

The article by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong summarized the great achievements that our country and people have achieved over the past 94 years under the leadership of the Party: gaining national independence, unifying the Fatherland, firmly protecting the Fatherland, developing the economy, culture and society, strengthening national defense and security, developing culture and people, and achievements in foreign affairs and international integration.

At the same time, the article affirms the Vietnamese spirit and intelligence, the spirit and intelligence of the Communist Party of Vietnam, which is always steadfast in storms and tempests, always steadfast in its purpose and ideals, always accompanying the nation, for the nation, the people and the country. Expressing his appreciation for the third part of the article, Dr. Nguyen Trung Kien said that this is perhaps the most important part and the message that the author - the highest leader of the Party - pointed out. That is the spirit of alertness, not complacent, not resting on one's laurels, but always being calm, thoughtful and clearly recognizing the challenges and difficulties ahead in order to propose appropriate policies.

The third part of the article also provides specific instructions in each area of social life. If implemented effectively, we will fulfill the vision and aspirations for national prosperity set forth by the 13th National Party Congress.

Dr. Pham Van Luan, lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture, expressed his appreciation for the article by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, especially the content of the key tasks of cultural and social development of our Party in the coming time.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong expressed the consistent, thorough, strong and creative viewpoint of the head of our Party on the role of culture in the country's development process: cultural development must be harmonious and on par with economic development, and cultural development is the second key task, right after the priority task of economic development.

According to Dr. Pham Van Luan, the General Secretary's guiding viewpoint is the most suitable choice in the current context, because only economic development can ensure social security and thereby improve the material and spiritual life of the people. The guiding viewpoint of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has affirmed the political determination and concretized into actions of our Party on culture, cultural development policies proposed from the 13th National Party Congress and especially from the 2021 National Cultural Conference, making culture the light "to guide the nation."

The General Secretary's viewpoint is a call for the entire Party and people during the days of welcoming the Lunar New Year 2024, to unite and make every effort to implement the motto of putting culture on par with the economy.

The direction of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong will be concretized into specific activities in social life such as building new rural areas and civilized urban areas, associated with preserving and promoting cultural values and identities from rural to urban areas; especially the construction and effective promotion of cultural institutions, especially in industrial parks and new urban areas; building a cultural and civilized lifestyle in healthy offices, businesses and communities; preventing moral and lifestyle degradation, considering this the most important and effective channel in preventing and combating negative social evils and corruption - one of the biggest risks and causes of social outrage today.

Dr. Pham Van Luan shared that at a time when the entire Party and people are eagerly welcoming the New Year of the Dragon, the guiding viewpoint of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is to prioritize cultural development with the spirit of synchronous and harmonious development along with economic development, which is a breakthrough policy, turning the aspirations of sustainable development of Vietnam into reality.

This is also a great opportunity for us to promote the role of culture, making culture a driving force for national development in the new Spring./.
