US Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign said on August 15 that she is ready to "go to the ring" twice with former US President Donald Trump.
In a statement on August 15, Harris-Walz 2024 campaign communications director Michael Tyler said that the debate discussions were over and that Harris was ready to take on Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump for the second time.
"Assuming Donald Trump actually appears on September 10 to debate Vice President Harris, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz will meet with Senator JD Vance on October 1 and the American people will have another chance to see Harris and Trump compete on stage in October," Tyler said, according to Forbes.

Tyler explained that voters deserve to see the candidates for America’s highest office share their competing visions for the country’s future. If all goes as agreed, Harris and Republican Donald Trump will debate for the first time on September 10, hosted by ABC News, and for the second time at an unspecified date in October.
The Trump campaign has not commented on Harris’s announcement. The Trump campaign had previously proposed three presidential debates in September and a face-off between the two running mates.
In another development, Democratic candidate Harris announced an ambitious plan on August 15 to support first-time homebuyers with up to $25,000 in down payments. Harris described the plan as a simplified and expanded version of current US President Joe Biden's proposal for a $25,000 down payment assistance specifically for the first 400,000 homebuyers and a $10,000 tax credit for first-time homebuyers.
Harris' campaign claims the program will benefit more than 4 million first-time homebuyers over four years.
