According to Gizmo China , for many years, iPhone users have been proud of a convenient feature that Android lacks, which is the phone battery health monitoring feature. The feature will display the current maximum battery capacity percentage compared to when the phone was first purchased, helping users easily grasp the level of battery wear of the device.

But that could change in the near future, as there's evidence that the future Android 15 could bring this long-awaited feature.

Android is about to have a dedicated interface to display battery status

Recently, Android Authority and Google News Telegram editor Nail Sadykov unexpectedly discovered an interface called 'battery health' hidden inside the Android 14 QPR2 beta 2 update. Although it is not yet operational, source code analysis shows that this feature will display "estimated battery capacity percentage compared to when new". Simply put, this is the same feature as Battery Health on iPhone.

While whether or not this feature will be widely deployed remains a mystery, Android Authority suggests it could appear in Android 15, which will likely initially be exclusive to the Pixel line.

The benefits of this feature are undeniable for smartphone users, especially for those who have been using their phones for a long time. Let's wait for Google to provide more detailed information about it in the future.
