The Emperor's Golden Seal is currently located at the Nam Hong Museum (Tu Son, Bac Ninh). The museum is urgently completing additional items: elevator system, doors... to ensure security.
Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Tran Trong Ha - Director in charge of expertise at the Nam Hong Royal Museum - said that the golden seal is displayed on the 5th floor of the building, to go up you have to move by elevator, there are cameras and 4-5 security guards on duty 24/7. This place is not yet open to everyone, only welcoming regular guests and cultural experts to admire.
The gold seal is displayed in a transparent glass cabinet, placed on a wooden shelf of Nguyen Dynasty artifacts, bought by Mr. Hong from a collector. Above the museum, there is a system of specialized, high-power lights to shine down on the display cabinet.
According to the Director in charge of expertise at the Nam Hong Royal Museum, the gold seal is cast from 10 gold, which is highly durable and less susceptible to oxidation, so preservation is not difficult. Tightening security around the museum is a priority for businessman Nguyen The Hong. Only with Mr. Hong's consent can visitors enter the elevator area - the place leading to the display of the gold seal.
The glass cabinet displaying the golden seal uses a fingerprint lock that only Mr. The Hong can open. The golden seal of the Emperor is placed in a space with many Nguyen Dynasty artifacts.
Close-up of each detail of the treasure: The golden seal is 10.4cm high, weighs 10.78kg, has a square face, and measures 13.8x13.7cm.
The Emperor's Golden Seal is exquisitely carved, the pinnacle of carving art. The treasure is displayed next to the portrait of King Minh Mang and the statue of President Ho Chi Minh.
As soon as it returns to the country, the seal is expected to appear in the galleries of the National History Museum in Hanoi, as well as in Thua Thien - Hue.
According to Mr. Tran Trong Ha, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will soon hold a solemn ceremony to recognize the golden seal as a National Treasure.
"After 72 years of wandering, the golden seal was repatriated on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of its casting (March 15, 1823). This is extremely meaningful," Mr. Ha shared.
In the museum space, there are two golden bowls of King Khai Dinh on display, in the middle is a golden lime jar, above is a golden gong of King Mac Toan, Mac Dynasty.
The first visitors to the museum were experts who used to work at the Bac Giang Museum and the Vietnam Institute of Han Nom Studies. Everyone felt happy and overwhelmed when admiring the treasures at close range.
